Stat line of the day

Here’s where Georgia won the game:

Other numbers were more telling, such as Georgia’s 5-for-5 effort in the red zone (to 6-of-7 for USC); such as the Bulldogs scoring five touchdowns to the Gamecocks’ two. Such as Georgia converting more than half (5-of-9) of its third-down opportunities, while USC managed 6-of-19 — the biggest reason for all those Lanning field goals.

This was such a weird game, I feel like we won the game on 10 to 15 different plays, many of which came on 3rd down or in the red zone.

  2. Why we almost lost the game? That USC had TEN more third down opportunities than we did, and if they had converted on one more, they would have won. Great stat, but it describes both sides of the razor’s edge.
