Georgia’s ten most memorable plays of 2007, #2

In my mind, there were three plays last year that stood out in terms of showcasing an individual player’s athletic gifts: that stunning sideline pass that Stafford threw against Georgia Tech, the Howard fumble-inducing sack of Brennan in the Sugar Bowl and this play.

Moreno’s body control on the run is incredible – and not just the “lingerie on the field” cut, either. There’s a little cut/shimmy move he puts on Groves (you can see it best at around 1:31 on the clip) that, along with some pretty sensational blocking, gets him through the line of scrimmage and off towards the goal line.

Speaking of runs, with this score, Georgia went back ahead in the game and never looked back with a closing spurt of 28 unanswered points.

And as electric as the mood in the stadium became, it’s worth noting that of all the plays on this list, this is the one that most seems to have grown larger in the aftermath, likely thanks to Uncle Verne.
