The first of the trials of the Auburn players arrested for armed robbery last year has started. Here’s what star witness (and former star Auburn running back) Michael Dyer brought to the proceedings:
… Dyer testified that his gun was used in the incident, but that he tried to talk Goodwin out of taking it. Dyer and the others talked of “constantly” smoking spice, a synthetic cannabis-like drug. DeAngelo Benton said the drug made him sick. Neiko Thorpe testified that he knew Goodwin, Benton, and Shaun Kitchens were drunk on the night of the alleged robbery.
Benton testified that Dyer was with the four players early in the night, partaking in drink and smoke.
Funny how none of that came up during the regular season. Almost as funny as this:

I wonder if Malzahn knows that his star transfer is packing heat. He’s probably respectful about that, too.
I heard the rumor about it being Dyer’s gun back in December, and I’m kind of surprised to find out that it’s true. I hope none of our guys have one of those around…

Did the gun have a middle name?

Aw jeez Mayor, the middle name was “and”. As in Smith and Wesson.

I was wondering if the gun was underage?

Wonder how Dyer is going to feel when Malzahn leaves for Arky.

“Partaking in drink and smoke” – he almost makes it sound like socially acceptable behavior.

This just in: 3 star recruit Bobby Quarles just committed to Auburn.

I expect Quarles to be downgraded in the next set of rankings due to the loss of one arm.

You have to admit he’s perfect his hand off, though.

you have to concede Bobby’s perfected his hand off, though

He was a 5 star psychopath before the arm incident, Senator. His current ranking reflects his injured status

I’m sorry, but for the most part the SEC is a cesspool – coaches and players. CMR and a few others stand apart, but being in the same conference with the likes of auburn, arky and most other sec schools does nothing but sully UGAs status as a terrific institution.

Yes, things would be much better in the B1G, wouldn’t they?

I think Hart Lee Dykes holds the NCAA record for “most schools gotten on probation by one student athlete.” Auburn should consider joining the Big 12, if you ask me.

Pretty much. So used to the pathetically low ethical standards that most of our SEC brethren hold themselves to, I’m surprised that Arky actually canned Petrino. It’s so wonderful that one of the most consistently sleazy programs in all of college football (Ohio State, you’re right up there, too) is our oldest football rival.

Or PAC 12. Don’t forget red panties though. It wasn’t too long ago we were there. Just saying. Step off the soapbox a little. By all means enjoy the show though. Petrino was an arrogant D-Bag. I’m still shocked Arky pulled the plug though. There must have been some serious gnashing of teeth on this one in Little Rock.
