Don’t pop the champagne cork just yet.

Before we get too excited about the news that Michael Adams is stepping down, let’s hear who’s the replacement.  Lord knows there are plenty more political hacks where he came from…

How about a glass of whiskey and a cigar?

I am popping anyway. What a pain in the ass. 2012 will be a good year regardless of the election.

Will we get to vote, as alumni? Can I throw my name into the race? I’ve got a campaign slogan and everything picked out. Let me run it by you real quick – “FORWARD.” Catchy, isn’t it? I’m hoping that the hipness of it will overshadow the fact that I’m not really experienced enough for the job, or would have a clue what I’m doing.

Tell it brother. The guy with that slogan inherited a budget surplus, a world at peace, a stock market that had tripled the last 8 years and left with two unfinished wars, an economy in collapse and huge budget deficits. What a fuck up.

We are talking about the same guy right?

Don’t waste your breath man. He’ll never understand.
It’s not even about what He inherited anymore (we don’t want to sound like a bunch of whiners, now do we?). It’s about where we’re heading, my man. It’s that he succeeded in unifying the country and setting the economy back on the right track. I’ll admit that I was a little nervous when I learned that He wanted to spend more (yet-to-be-born) taxpayer $ than every preceding president combined, but after seeing the results, consider me a believer. Yes dir, things are looking up.

I like your thinking. There’s no problem that any government creates that an even bigger government can’t solve. We’re just not spending enough yet. What comes after trillion? Quadrillion? Awesome!

        Budget surplus?
The idea that we don’t count the unfunded liabilities in this country is a joke.
        Stock Market?
You forget about Clinton signing into law the ability for banks to become investment houses (can you say derivatives, mbs cdo, cds?) or the tech crash before he left office only to have Greenspan blow us a nice housing bubble. Just like Bernanke is dumping trillions to support our new bubble in equities and keeping rates at practically zero so savers and seniors get burned but banks can gamble risk free. Take away the punch bowl and see what happens.

Whatever the slogan these turds throw at us these days, the only thing keeping me sane is thinking about what the Dawgs hopefully will achieve in 2012. Hell, I’m not even an alumni of the school.

Imagine the joy in Dawgland if they named Vince Dooley as the new replacement.

I know it won’t happen but it would be worth it for the look on Adams’ face…

I didn’t even want him as AD anymore. Moving him out and firing Donnan are 2 things Adams actually did right.

Agreed. Old ball coaches have no place in academia, or being the most powerful person at a University.

Good riddance. Mike Adams is lucky. Not only did he get to keep a job for which he was unqualified and incompetent to perform he managed to avoid prosecution for looting the University of Georgia’s money by creative use of expense accounts. Any other state would have stripped him of his state job and sent him to the slammer forthwith. Anybody who thinks Georgia isn’t just as dirty as Louisiana and Illinois is just plain dreaming.

    Preview of his farewell speech:

“It is with sad reluctance that I step down as president of the University of Georgia. There have been those who sought to throw stones at my tenure – Yow!, Eeee!, Ouch!, Damn!, Aaay!- who let those people in with sacks of roc-Yiii!, Hey!…………..
