Call me a cock-eyed optimist, if you want…

… but if there’s one thing that gives me hope this season could be special, it’s this.

This 2012 squad will be the best defense Georgia has put on the field since 2003.  Richt has proven he can take a team with missing parts on offense pretty far if the defense is good enough.  And, yeah, the early season suspensions are worrisome.  But it’s not like that didn’t happen in ’03.  Somehow Georgia survived.

Dang! it was hot – the heat burned the top of my feet through my shoes. But it is always a good day when you whip the Klempsons.

so basically, you’re saying about 80% of our defense isn’t even all star caliber, and half our defense isnt good enough to be drafted in 2013. Clearly, the talent numbing influence of Mike Bobo is killing us. If only UGA had a dynamic young head coach like Will Muschamp…what? Oh. Derek Dooley…huh? Bobby Pet….really? Dan Mullen…..errr….the Zooker? Dabo Swinney? That guy with the mullet at West Virginia? Rich Rod?

Does anyone have the number for Lou Holtz?????

(see how easy it is to find something to whine about?)

Call me a Disney Dog if you must, but there’s a glimmer of a chance that UGA might actually beat someone next year! We all know that if UGA doesnt go undefeated and unscored upon, it will be taken as underachievement by the armchair geniuses who can “call every offensive UGA play from the stands!”

Not true! They stay in their armchairs. It’s after they leave the stands, undo time and tell us how they called it after the play was over that we are supposed to listen. I’m thinking of going into MMQBing this year because my ego needs the crowing about how much better I am than those who are career SEC and CFB coaches. And their jobs and families are a dime-a-dozen. I’ll call upon them all to be fired with my quick wit and reparte and show why I’m so powerful, hardnosed and uncaring on the internet

By the way, the author didn’t note how many UGA players and starters were suspended or injured before that game. Twould be nice to tac that onto 30-0.

I’ve rebutted the worry warts about early season suspensions using this game. Thanks for bringing it up again in that context.

    Go Dawgs! Kick Buffalo’s ass!

I tried to bet a bama fan that we’d rank higher than them in total defense. He didn’t accept.

      Saban wouldn’t bet, either 😉

You guys gotta be old farts. We are the only ones that look at the rest of the SEC as equals at best. We take it for granted that the team will go after the highest ranked member with the zest and stubborness they would go after us if we were ranked higher.

These younger alums, they tremble when before ESPN-rated aholes that we have fought for years and want to drop the Tech game “cause they are bored”. You pricks haven’t let those pricks get your hate level higher than a “W”. Conan’s quote was made for this game. You have to add”and egos” after” women” who are “lamenting the dead”. You guys need to read “Good Old-Fashioned Hate”.

Yes, but wouldn’t the best way to rub it into Tech be to win 9 straight, then not renew. I think it would be fun to let them stew on defeat for more than a year at a time.

As a bonus we could curb-stomp Clemmers in the meantime.

2012 will be a special season. Dawgs finally go a whole 3 months without beating themselves and head to Atlanta undefeated. All bets are off from there. If this season goes in the tank feel free to blame me for jinxing them but I have a hunch I’m gonna be right. Pass the damn kool-aid.

We are going to have two or three near disasters. Depending upon which end of the stick we end up on those, will dictate our postseason’s potential. Get ready for some nail-chewing, hair-pulling games this year. The problem is that the competition has the same thoughts we have for how to win them all. And they all will fight like banshees.

You don’t need to read any books to hate Tech. You just have to lose to them once while sitting in the home section in that little stadium on North Ave. Throw in a know it all Tech brother in law and some nerdy co-workers and wha-la, Hate is born.

Now those poor bastards at the Trade School, they must hate us like we hate Florida. A different level of hate with good reason.

And now a moment of Zen.Every year we get all hyped up about some part of our team and every year that part lays a really large egg. I have been seeing this for at lest the last 5 years. I’ll believe we are great on defense when we stop someone with a pulse from scoring on us at the end of the damn game to win. Until we can do this, we will beat the teams we should beat and lose to the rest. This has been the Georgia way for the last 3 years.

Correct 69. In the final 2 games of the season, in the 2nd half of those games, with victory on the line the D didn’t stop anybody. You can blame the O for not holding onto the ball but in the final analysis it was the D not stopping LSU and MSU that lost those games.

    • With all due respect, that’s just not enough. I hate the Gators as much or more than anyone, but basing an entire’s season success or failure on that one game is narrow-sighted and makes us look bush league. By making it sound like our entire season is that one game, it gives those saurian shitheads more credit than they deserve.
