I’ll be heading out to Amelia Island in a couple of hours or so and that means posting over the next few days will be sporadic at best, as I’ll be at the mercy of Verizon and my internal alcohol level. I’ll do what I can, but don’t expect miracles.
In the meantime, y’all behave while I’m gone. Think happy thoughts.
Be safe, Senator and you guys behave. Ya’ll know the drill.

Scratch that, I read “intern” when I should have read “internal.” Guess I’m still holding over from the Clinton years.

Is your friend flying in again this year? Best of “luck” all the way around.

Are you referring to Friend from DC?

I hope he means “friend” the offensive line coach who can patch that hole we had in our “fence” in Columbia. If we can give the offense a chance to get their considerable talent rolling, tomorrow should be a really good contest. I do think the 25-35 MPH winds will hurt us more on offense because we are more capable of hitting the long ball. On the flip side, it may narrow the advantage of their kicking game (depending on when you are kicking and in which direction but it cannot do anything but help, imo.)

No, I was referring to my best friend from DC who attends the WLOP every year with the Senator. He is a very special guy, but not an offensive line coach. Although he is the most brilliant guy I know.

Yes, I’m referring to that friend. Didn’t know the details that you just furnished. Thanks, Joy. Didn’t know you were connected here as well. I like that.
It was a chatty personal question that didn’t need to be answered by Blutarsky.

Wonder if he has time to learn how to fix our OL. We can win this game if we can bandaide the wound that was opened up at SC. Just enough to the passing game opened up, that will help slow the rush down. Hoping AM can hit the backs on the swing patterns to get them into space outside the rush ends. Going to be a very interesting Cocktail Party this year.

Sounds like you might be the one to fix the OL.

You should have been here last weekend. This weekend’s weather will not be your friend, especially as you sit on your balcony looking over the Atlantic. Make sure you take Heckscher and not 95 on your way to the game, pretty drive.

Dang, Senator. Earlier in the week you said you were going to start with the “Debbie Downer” posts but end up with the “UP” posts later in the week. Did you miss something? All I see is doom, despair, and agony for me.

You think Bluto is a Shakespeare guy or a Ward guy?
“And I shall take my leave of you now- unless you have plans to shoot me. In which case, I shall take you with me.” He lifted up his other hand. In it was a small black handset. ” Just so we’re clear, the bomb that is wired to the undercarriage of my car will go off if my thumb contracts- which is precisely the kind of autonomic jerk that will occur if you put a bullet in my chest or my back. Oh and mayhap I should mention that the explosion has a radius that more than includes where you are, and the detonation is so efficient, you will not be able to dematerialize out of the zone fast enough”
Xcor laughed with genuine respect. “You know what they say about suicide, don’t you. No Fade for them ”
“Its not suicide if you shoot me first. Self-defense”
“And your willing to test that out?”
“If you are”

1980 Georgia v. Florida is on ESPN Classic right now. I had forgotten what a big game Cris Collinsworth had for the gators. He got the better of Scott Woerner that day.

Collinsworth (my wife hates him worse than me but I admit, he knows the NFL) didn’t last as long as he did in the NFL for no reason. I remember watching Woerner run outta the backfield when he played at Jonesboro….took half the defense to bring him down. An all-time great dawg. Clemson will never forget him.

Oh, and don’t go to the wrong stadium. Brian Greise (sp?) said last night on ESPN that he thought the gators would be too much for the Dawgs – what with that great defense and playing at home and all… It’s amazing what you can learn from the talking heads at ESPN.

Aren’t they the home team designate this year?
LikeLike
Not sure, they very well could be, but in my opinion watching & listening to him yammer that was NOT what he meant at all. He meant the home crowd would help them blah blah blah. But that’s just my opinion and I do think they are home in even years, for what ever that means at a neutral site.

I like us in our road whites, just hope that doesn’t subject us to some gaudy uniform they may try to wear. We certainly lost our mind with the Boise game uni, and the black helmet game but they have really gone over the top several times. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Boom do something as tacky as Urbie did.

I turned on ESPN last night just in time to see one of their talking heads explain (with KY footage) why Georgia’s defense is soft. I just hope the D sees this and takes offense, and does something about it tomorrow.

I thought we were home in the odd years, but I like our red unis too. And it does limit whatever tragic uniforms Florida would come up with. hard to mess up white.

I am the CF fashion police. For instance, I cannot watch Oregon play for very long, their unis hurt my eyes. They are they tackiest of all. Kentucky’s looked good at first last week. After a while they took on a neon tone and I hated them.

For those of you who remember our conversation about Boise State’s “Dinky Dunk” passes from a while ago, I just spoke with Dunkin’ Brands Chief Development Officer and suggested he capitalize on the cupcake fad by making tiny donuts for parties called “Dinky Dunks”.
He said this is another thing he doesn’t have time for…:) But remember, you heard it first on GTP.
If Dunkin’ Brands don’t like our ideas, I’m going to contact Hasbro and see if they’ll make a game called Dinky Dunks where you flip little red and black plastic pieces into an “arena” to score points…
🙂
