I actually got goose bumps listening to Brett McMurphy describe what Nick Chubb did in Saturday’s scrimmage. Kirby telling him that Chubb has added on five more pounds of muscle is just the cherry on top of the sundae.

I think it’s apparent now that Nick isn’t just going to play against UNC … He’s going to start and probably carry the ball much more than we expected in the Dome. Are we sure he doesn’t have a Superman cape on underneath that #27 jersey?

I cannot see any reference to “Superman cape” without remembering Richard Pryor’s routine about Superman landing in unfamiliar black territory: Superman lands in Harlem theater area and a well-dressed night owl asks him, “Man, that’s some kinda clothes! Where’d ya get that cape?!”; and the one for Southerners : Superman lands on a back forty in Al where a black farmer plowing with a mule tells him, “Yall better git out frum ’round heah, this be Mr Gilmo’s land.”

Funny. It certainly will stress the defense and give whichever QB plays an extra edge. As much as I want Nick Chubb to be able to put this team on his shoulders and get us to Atlanta (ruining TN’s hopes), I really want him to be safe and get paid for what he worked for. My hopes that he will be at least 90% of what we have seen before are soaring. Good news indeed.

Wholly upbeat on Superman’s return! But, does this mean our offensive line is that good (Yay Pittman!) or do we have some problems on defense?
