Pro tip for Wisconsin athletic administrators: it’s probably not a good idea to refer to race-baiting garb worn to football games as costumes.
Black athletes “are loved during competition but then subjected to racial discrimination in our everyday lives too.”

IDK. Without listing all the negatives of Trump or Clinton… ( I’ll won’t google those things…probably hit a fake Hillary s site)

When I moved here 32 years ago I’d go to the barber shop that was next to what is now Jittery Joe’s. I’ll always remember the guy running the place telling me that he was “ok with football because he didn’t have to see THEM but basketball, no way”! I’m not saying that this is only an issue in the South, I know better but it always stuck with me whenever I walked by the joint.

But what is the overreaction?
Is any reaction an overreaction?
Wisconsin got some feedback from people it respects that they witnessed something they didnt like. Wisconsin agrees that the costumes were not something that they would like to see at their events and pulled the tickets of the offenders.
Sometimes it just seems like people want to be offended….

“The police slayings came less than three weeks after Greene was removed from a high school football game for unfurling a Confederate flag near black spectators. Video from the incident appears to show Greene arguing with the cops who asked him to leave the game.
Arvis Gardner, the father of an Urbandale High School football player, said Greene taunted him with the Confederate flag during the school’s Oct. 14 homecoming game.”

Come on D. Greene was off his rocker. His neighbors said he wasn’t right. He got probation in 2015, which required medication for a mental health condition.
The only conclusion is that the Confederate flag, in conjunction with Trump/Pence signs, causes racial hatred, psychotic breaks, and murder. We should ban at least one, if not both, of the offending flags/banners.

I’ve been surprised how overt the racism has been recently. Assuming I’m in agreement because I’m a white male, I’ve had strangers say things to me that I rarely heard over the last 30+ years as a adult. But this is changing – and pretty quickly. As time goes on the older racists will die off. The younger ones will get a lesson in ostracism. You can call it political correctness. I call it demographics.

Hey,this is a football blog. What the hell are you doing talking about shit like race here?

Like I said, crude, rude, and smarter than everyone else. You’re a great little progressive. I’m not saying race is off limits. But you’re cherry picking some article and one nutcase and apparently trying to generalize cop killers as white, patriotic, rednecks. Newsflash… That is not who is killing cops around the country. People can discuss how to get rid of racism on WebMD for all I care. But they would be a lot better served not getting their feelings hurt and expecting national outrage and reparations every time they’re offended by some idiot. I can play statistics if you’d like. Try this…
Interracial crime
“In 2013, of the approximately 660,000 crimes of interracial violence that involved blacks and whites, blacks were the perpetrators 85 percent of the time. This meant a black person was 27 times more likely to attack a white person than vice versa. A Hispanic was eight times more likely to attack a white person than vice versa.”
Now, should I demand justice or am I not allowed in your dynamic book of rules? Here’s another…
“In 2015, police killings of blacks accounted for approximately 4 percent of homicides of blacks. Police killings of unarmed blacks accounted for approximately 0.6 percent of homicides of blacks. The overwhelming majority of black homicide victims (93 percent from 1980 to 2008) were killed by blacks.”
This could go on all day.

A reality check from you? That’s rich. The post is titled “Black athletes “are loved during competition but then subjected to racial discrimination in our everyday lives too.” I didn’t post it the senator did. My experience with the barber was similar so I mentioned it. Someone said that that kind of thing wasn’t limited to the south and I agreed and related another experience I read about in a book by a southern author about his racists relatives in Chicago. I then read posts decrying people being “offended” and I responded about someone else who was “offended” and responded by killing two cops. You tell me where I said one thing that was rude, crude or implied I thought I was smarter than anyone? Of course the guy in Iowa was nuts, so was the guy in Dallas and Baton Rouge. You jumped with all this rude crude smart shit on me. I’d just as soon talk about football but I’ll be goddamned if I won’t comment on this topic.

You were rude when you told me to “F#*k off” on another thread for no reason when I’ve never said a thing to you. It appeared to me that you were associating patriots with those who kill cops. I thought that was utterly asinine. I apologize if I misunderstood your point, but this is why I stick to sports. I do not condone racism of any kind, but from where I’m standing, it’s very much an overused and abused term and it works in many ways, in many directions, across many continents. It’s human nature and you can’t eradicate it or the state of being offended without eradicating the freedoms that we all enjoy. Good day and I’ll let you have the last word. Slap me or rise above the fray.

A lot of Dems do things that make me shake my head a lot.
But a lot of Repubs have drifted into an alternate reality that’s truly insane. Mass psychosis. Beset by hobgoblins of their own imagination which would be kind of comical if they didn’t pair it with existential hysteria.
What’s the difference between my aunt and my mother-in-law? My aunt’s delusions are the product of advanced dementia. My m-i-l’s are the result of sequestering herself in Facebook and church circles feeding each other conspiracy theories and fake news. She’s convinced Trump is a birm-again Christian and that Hillary has a secret pact with ISIS.
And I’m never voting for any politician who can’t stand up to that sort of craziness.
There’s no good reason for a noose at a football game. There is no such thing as a funny noose joke or costume. If I can get kicked out for shouting “fuck you” at the top of my lungs over and over again, then the same principle applies here.

I say again, the enemy is not the politicians, it’s the people that voted them in who are the issue. You want to know why we have these two choices? It’s the result of the judgment, or lack thereof, of our fellow citizens.
We’re never going to get Lincoln/Douglas quality debates out of a pool of Louis Gohmerts and Corrine Browns. It’s just not gonna happen. We collectively want insults and name calling and conspiracy and “infotainment.”
