No pleasing some people

Gotta love a portion of our fan base, at least the one that I read on the Internet.  Some of us go from bitching about Georgia losing because Mark Richt never showed emotion on the sideline to bitching about Georgia losing because Kirby Smart’s got ants in his pants during games.

Don’t ever change, Dawgnation.

There’s a qualitative difference between Smart, who gets out there to make a point, and Ray Goff, who looked like Gomer Pyle doing the St.Vitus dance.

I hope you’re right, but that’s all it is right now.

qualitative difference just means that the quality of his antics are better than Goof’s.

I guess we have to take it since there isnt a quantitative difference between Smart and Goof.

Another example is the difference in the amount of comments after a loss vs after a win.

Agree with the content of our fanbases’ discontent. However, are we really that different than other team’s fans? Seems to me these type of things are more a function of society in general. Win now and free access to boards where individuals can sound off.

Look folks, I don’t have any special insight into calling balls and strikes, or which play to call, but Saturday night in Lexington, on the sidelines, there, I think I saw a coaching staff coaching they butts off, a team playing they butts off…

It may turn out to be an illusion, but I think, after the astonishing heartbreak of Tennessee and the beat down in Jacksonville, I think I saw a coaching staff gelling and a bunch of kids becoming a football team…not every play, not every down, but more often, for the first time, than not.

Mark Richt is a good man, maybe a great man, but he does not matter any more.

Kirby Smart is the coach of my team and I am pleased with the progress my team has shown. So far.

I don’t doubt there will be disappointments, its college football, not computer science. But I realized last week I was happier, more likely to stay married, if I bought in to the Process and looked forward, rather than back.

    Now Get After Awbun’s Ass.

Oh…hurt feelings are not a plan, dwelling in the past is not a plan, disappointment is not a plan, anger is not a plan…Visors Rule.

Yes, Scorpio! A thousand times, Yes!!! Someone gets it! The staff seems to have figured out that Eason needs to stay “home” in the ‘gun where he can do his thing (improvise). The kicking game seems to be coming along and clock management was just perfect. Sounds like growth to me!!

Sadly if they were coaching their butts off it still didnt amount to actual on the field production.

Saturday was the 4th straight sub 50th percentile game and the 6th this season.

Just as a comparison…the coaches last year only coached up 5 such games all season.

What fans be saying if Kirby had been able to hire Boom as his DC?

  6. I am on that side for a coach that is more animated than Kirby is showing on the field right now but not to the extreme of BOOM.

News flash, some fans feel differently from others. I’m not sure how labeling the Georgia fanbase as being any different from others applies here. When you’re not doing as well as fans want, people will look for anything to complain about. I’m glad Kirby doesn’t go full Muschamp on the sidelines, but I like the enthusiasm. Nobody would’ve cared about Richt’s calm, stoic Tom Landry demeanor if he was winning more btw.

    • News flash: that’s why I specifically qualified my observation with the word “portion”. And mentioned bitching in the contest of “about Georgia losing”.

      BTW.

Winning more than 10 games a year, you mean?

Strange … both portions are correct.

  9. Demeanor is one of the silliest arguments I’ve ever seen, but, yea….bulging forehead veins win championships. I stop taking someone serious when they try to use this, too.

I remember when some fans complained that CMR did not run onto the field ahead of the players like Saban does, as if that mattered in wins and loses. Best not try to please people.

Meh. I’m okay with Kirby’s sideline demeanor. I usually skim by the type of superficial comments Brother Bluto is referring to. I favor the comments that provide some analysis and/or facts, or are at least funny.

  13. If you win a lot, people really do not care about how you behave.
Just look at Baylor and PSU. Then again there are some, who win a lot and are just outstanding people and coaches(even in their side line actions). Maybe, instead of side line action, character is the best way to judge. Bye the way, I do get the Senators point. Some folks are never happy.
