“Well, he’d be the biggest free agent in college football history.”

“Don’t kid yourself—every single one of us would love to be in Nick’s situation,” one SEC coach said. “But that’s a tough spot. You know what Jalen gives you. You’ve seen him go through the wars. But Tua, boy, that’s a talent right there. He looks like one of those ‘hey, these dudes only come along every so often’ type of player.”

Well, Kirby probably wouldn’t.  But that’s because he may already be in Nick’s situation.

  1. Go Dawgs!

I want Jalen Hurts to try to transfer just because I want to see the Nick Saban press conferences about it. I can hear that podium thumpin’ now…

After watching A Tale of Two Halves, it’s hard for me to see Hurts matching his success in his first two years over his next two. The disparity between his success as a runner and hesitancy as a passer just makes it impossible for defenses not to go all-in on exploiting that.

Seriously. I’m thinking at this point he’s a tad overrated based on the final play of the season.

Funny, I think Hurts is better than Tua. The starter wasn’t effective so Saban switched QBs and got a boost because Tua plays with a different style than Hurts and it took awhile to adjust. What did Tua really do? The game winner was on a pass damn near anybody could have thrown. The truth is The Dawgs had that game won and the Georgia coaches lost the game, Bama didn’t win it. See Super Bowl 2017 for a comparable screw-up. Sorry if I hurt anybody’s fee fees.

He plays with the Alabama offense around him. It would be hard not to look good.

I always thought Hurts was overrated as a passer. He’s a talented athlete but there was never a time I didn’t think that if he was playing for anyone other than Alabama he would have looked much less effective. The National Title game only confirmed that for me. So I don’t know about “biggest free agent in history.”

I wouldn’t trade Fromm or Fields for him….

I hope it divides the Bama locker room.

Remember Hurts has been through several offensive coordinators. It hurts performance. He deserves to transfer where his talents can be appreciated and developed.

Funny, I just re-watched both the Rose Bowl and the Championship games yesterday (the short-short versions).

The Hurtz sauce was weak, with no flavor, and no heat.

But Tua threw some really baaaaaddd balls…including, but not limited to, one for a TD, another for a pick, and another for a shoulda-beena-pick.

And the final ball was an easy throw for a D-I QB… but, hey, he nailed it in crunch-time.

Still, based on my total lack of information of how he practices and cursory review of one-half of football, I just don’t think Tua can be trusted… I see a 2-QB situation at Bama with Hurts getting even more involved in the running attack and Nick making anguished faces all season.

    • I totally agree. TT is getting all of this hype off literally one play. I’ll take Jake Fromm over both of them. If the officials allow the blocked punt to stand, Little Nicky goes back to Hurts, and Bama has a serious QB controversy on their hands.

Not wanting to fan the flames of conspiracy theorists (or maybe I really DO) but I watched the National Championship Game again tonight and, for the first time, realized that the official who flagged Georgia incorrectly for offsides threw the flag after the kick was blocked. Look at it yourselves if you don’t believe me.

Remember to clean out your locker BEFORE you announce your decision.
