CBS’ farewell tour

They’re not gonna miss Georgia this season, if they can help it.

They chose that over the Florida-Tennessee meteor game, which is their usual staple.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Wow, I am kinda shocked at that. They must really not give af anymore.

In reality, UT should be happy if it means that they get a night game at the Swamp in mid-September instead of a brutal late afternoon game. Nevertheless, let the “disrespected” vitriol commence.

Since CBS is a national network they are going with a national brand. Outside of the SEC footprint, who gives a shit about UT or UF these days. They are yesterday’s news, a couple of has beens. UGA on the other hand (love them0YES WE DO or hate them-sorry anOSU nation) is now the hottest NATIONAL brand. Gets more eyeballs on the tube.

If you are acquainted with (and bother to speak with) Junior and/or Lulu, then you know they are absolutely certain that the Vols will take down UGA in Knoxville and go on to win the East, the SEC and the NC.

I would expect nothing less (or more) from Junior and Lulu. Tainted moonshine and meth really mess up the mind (as does inbreeding).

Man! What does that tell you about UF right now?

    • Tells me that a game in Athens or Hogtown with the Gators is probably a noon kick on ESPN against Fox Big Noon at best right now as opposed to penciled in as the GotW in Jacksonville.

Exactly, we have fans that don’t realize that either.

Agreed. But that of course depends on where Georgia and Florida are, respectively, in any given season. But I think that you are right that in 2026 and 2027 when Jacksonville is unavailable that if the game is not in another neutral site and is a home-and-home affair that it is just another SEC game the last weekend of October as far as TV goes. If one team sucks (hopefully, UF) there is no reason for ESPN to make that a prime spot on Saturday.

Honestly, many of our own fans don’t realize this is the premiere game and time for the SEC…or at least until this year is over. Why would we think Tennessee or UF fans think any differently?

IF UT/UF is moved away from their usual 3:30 kick off, how long until a home and home WLOCP is a nooner.

I hope the Gators get their one and only SEC win this year against Tennessee, and by a big score.
In any event, the enemy of my enemy is not my friend.
I’ve given up on the meteor showing up like I did Santa when I was 6.

Please note that CBS has not yet reserved UGA at UT for its broadcast. That is a bigger dis to UT than taking UGA v SC over UT at UF.

They rarely announce more than the opener, which UGA/Carolina is for CBS along with the Cocktail Party, when the double headers will be and the game after Thanksgiving. Its been that way for a while.

This is excellent news. It means I can devote my full attention to watching Tennessee spit the bit in Gainesville, thus giving Gator Nation false hope and shutting up the Toothless Nation for at least a full week.
