On the record

For what it’s worth:

… DawgsHQ reached out to the University of Georgia for comment on how it handles such allegations. The school responded with comment on Saturday.

“Our program has acted decisively in every criminal investigation of a football player regarding sexual/physical assault allegations. We have no tolerance for such misconduct,” Georgia said in the statement.

“We have a clear record and the suggestion that our program ignores reports or rewards bad behavior is wrong. In fact, just the opposite is true — we consistently educate with a goal of prevention, we take action when necessary, and we will continue to take action, as appropriate.”

Do I think it was necessary to make an official policy statement?  I do.  Even if I don’t expect it will change any minds in certain quarters.  That being said, keep up that education stuff, folks.

Annual limits? He don’t need no stinkin’ annual limits.

How it started (May 18, 2022):

Division I football teams will not have annual signing and initial counter limits for the next two academic years, the Division I Council decided Wednesday.

Members issued a blanket waiver to allow Football Bowl Subdivision schools to award scholarships based on the overall counter limit of 85.

How it’s going:

Boy, it sure didn’t take long for Kirby to figure out the new roster management math, did it?  Georgia’s 22 leads the SEC.
