Game day experience

Mobile needs to upgrade its stadium to add luxury suites – for South Alabama, the Senior Bowl and the GMAC Bowl.

Ah, those suites. Bringing your living room to the stadium:

… There are 80 suites located in Jordan-Hare Stadium with sizes ranging from nine to 30 seats. Included in the furnished suites are climate control, catered meals, closed-circuit TV with instant replay and access to major networks, private restrooms and even maid service.

“It makes everything convenient,” said Janie Boles, Auburn’s director of donor services and annual giving. “No long lines for restrooms, for concessions or for entering the stadium. The food is better. Weather does not play a role and parking is provided. Shakers and football programs are provided for you.”

But give Mobile credit. The City Council President is trying to make sure they bring the common touch to the new boxes.

“I’d like to have the windows open (to get the game-day experience)…”

Wow. It’s like he’s willing to let them breathe the same air as everyone else during the game. At no extra expense, either…
