Check out the listing at quarterback on the South Carolina depth chart the OBC released yesterday.

Either Connor Shaw is a real prodigy or Spurrier still hasn’t figured out a way to get inside Stephen Garcia’s head.  I know which one I’d put my money on.

Whatever the reason… please, please, please play a true freshman QB against Grantham’s defense, Steve.  He’ll take any kind of break he can get.

Fresh meat. Young kid like that could get hurt starting in a smash mouth SEC game. Hope Spurrier rethinks his strategy to motivate Garcia.

School still hasn’t started in Columbia. Garcia still could transfer with 2 seasons of eligibility left. It would serve Spurrier right.

SOS is in our heads and has been forever. Even though we beat them early and often we still worry about SOS. If he starts a true freshman against us he has finally jumped the shark.

I don’t know about his getting in ‘our’ heads. But you’ve got to wonder about the heads of the sc players. Isn’t the QB generally expected to be the leader of an offense, if not the entire team? Jerking Garcia’s chain all the time, while promoting Shaw as some kind of prodigy – and never making any real decision about who starts and who sits, has got to be a big distraction to the rest of the team. Not to mention the hotel issues they’e got on their doorstep.

True frosh Mr. Shaw, meet Mr. Houston, returning sec leader in sacks and future NFL draft pick.

I know you all are dying to know what happened Saturday at Mars Hill College:

Jon Richt threw for 184 yards completing 10-22 with 2 TD and 0 int.

All I can say for Shaw is enjoy the support you are getting from SOS right now because the minute you are named the starter things will change. People wonder why they can’t get a top qb to sign with the “qb genius” in Columbia, maybe it is because of the way he treats ALL of his qb’s.
