One hand tied behind their backs.

One other reason for optimism from the ULL game – going in, how many of you would have expected a Georgia team missing Ealey, Green and King to win by the widest margin of victory ever in the Richt era?

Put it this way:  the Dawgs played well enough to get Finebaum off their backs.  For one week, anyways.

I have to say that I appreciate this bit o’ phrasing: “… picking up Jeremiah Masoli on waivers from Oregon.” That’s funny.

The longer this thing drags on with AJ the more concerned I become. Waiting for that other shoe to drop.

I think the O did miss Green, Ealey & King. We had 5 drops from the receivers and the running game wasn’t on par with what we’d seen at the end of last season. But don’t get me wrong – I’m not complaining. I thought the ULL game showed just how deep the Dawgs are on O. Plus, considering we only had 5 penalties in a blowout, it also showed the subs were more disciplined fundamentally.

The NCAA in letting Jeremiah Masoli play for Ole Miss has been accused of cruel and unusual punishment. JM now thinks he should have just sat this one out.

Plan of the Day for Finebaum, the Jerry Springer of radio, as suggested by an admirer…

I am sure, like all of Jimmy Sexton’s clients, when it looks like he [Houston we’ve got a problem] is dead and gone some other idiot Athletic director will hire him and pay a fortune.
Hey F Baum, today you ought to start your show with Charles from Reeltown defending Auburn, then you can make him and Tammy look stupid all day. Then the idiot caller from Texas can call and make fun of Auburn idiot callers. Then Ohio idiot caller can call and make fun of Alabama idiot caller. Then the Bama idiot callers can make fun of Auburn. Then the Ohio callers can make fun of Florida idiot callers. Then the Florida idiot callers can make fun of Texas idiot callers. Then pay hommage to Lord Saban, mix in a couple of interviews and call it a day. Sound good?”

I can’t follow Finebaum’s logic here… because it presupposes that Houston Nutt wasn’t already a joke.

This is an extremely deep offense (exception being QB now), and there are playmakers everywhere. Receiving corp was missing AJ and TK, and the running game was missing Ealy, yet we looked talented everywhere. When I look at the TE depth, FB depth, added to 3 solid running backs, and a two deep line, yes, I suppose we can put up that kind of margin against ULL. The surprising thing was, we pulled the starters in the 3rd and still did that. And don’t even get me started on the defensive improvement and the reliability of our kicking game. Stay healthy, my friends! If we do, we are all going to enjoy this fall better than we have for years. I just want to come out of this tough September stretch with no more than one loss, and no major injuries.
