I like to think that when it comes to college football I’m an enthusiast, but I’ve got nothing on this guy.
… By 1976, Baker decided he was ready to join the Terps on the road. He hasn’t missed a game since.
That means he traveled to Birmingham in 1977, landing in Atlanta the day of the game, driving to the stadium and back, and sitting up in the airport all night. It means he traveled to Clemson the day after Hurricane Hugo made landfall in 1989, enduring repeated cancellations and finally renting two cars to drive back to Maryland. It means he went to bowl games in El Paso and Orlando, Honolulu and Shreveport, Pontiac and Boise.
That’s 34 years of Maryland football, in case you’re counting. A long stretch of dark moments in that time, but at least he saw this gem.
That’s the kind of stuff that keeps you coming back.
Yea I feel the same way about travelling to Jax every year (masochism).

Jeez. I have been to every game this year, and it was taxing on me. But to go to that many MARYLAND games?! Sheesh. Here’s to you, buddy, I hope you enjoyed that ACC Championship season a couple of years ago. You earned it.

I would be a lot more interested in these plays if either of them had been for a game-winning touchdown….only losers talk about big plays in losses.

Thanks for the advice – I’ll just shut the blog down during the week after a loss. 😉

Greg Hill catches pass. Greg Hill sets ball down (rather gently and promptly) on ground. Greg Hill runs immediately to sidelines. Greg Hill teammates do not pursue him to endzone to act stupid. Team celebrates on their sideline.
Sighhhhhh….the good ol’ days…….

I’ve been to 55 straight UGA games. I hope I can get a streak like that going. There’s something about being there. You never know when you’re going to see history, even when you think you won’t.
I was sure I was going to get to 59 this year. Looks like it’s going to be close, Coach.
