Sure, it may be Vanderbilt, but this clip is fun to watch.
In fact, it’s fun to watch because it’s Vandy. Some of those kids may actually have a chance to fulfill a dream.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Houston Nutt just swooped in and offered them all a chance at greyshirting if they transferred.

Heck why doesn’t Vandy keep them all? Can’t be much worse, I mean they don’t even have an Athletic Dept.

it’s all fun and games until one of these guys actually makes it onto the field of play and gets torn in half.

Walk ons?
Uh oh, the gullible co-eds at Vandy are gonna be hearing a lot of BS come fall.
“Oh yeah, I’m on the team, I just don’t travel….”

That was great! That’s the core spirt of college sports. Football (and other sports) scholarships should be reduced more forcing more true amiture Student/ Athlete recruitment like that video. The part about the Head Coach going to the fraternities to recruit was great, how it should be in my opinion. ESPN and the Pro type fans would hate it, too bad.

I watched it and the coach that went wild over one of the guys 40 time was a hoot. Texas A&M used to have the 12th man, a walk-on, that was always on the Kick-off team. Heck apparently Vandy can’t even fill out its roster limit so the coach had to go after them.

So all of them are at Vandy because of their academic abilities? No need to dumb down the play book. I may become a closet Vandy fan.

That reminds me it wasn’t that long ago that Coach Pete Herrmann went over to the Ramsey Center scouting the intramurals for basketball players. They somehow managed to win eight games that season with walk ons Alex Evans, Sam Greavu, Blake Davenport, Tommy Wainscott, Joey Waldrop, Buzz Wehunt, Julian Williams, Matt Womack, Kevin Brophy, and Jay McAuley on the roster.

Far be it from me to ever misoverestimate myself, but I think that I may be faster than the guy at 3:35.

When I first saw this post, the videoplayer had a still shot of that guy, but there was a big embossed play button covering most of his face. At first, I thought it was going to be a story about some girls trying to play kicker or WR for Vandy.

I actually enjoyed that video. Can you post the next one when they show who made the cut? It will be interesting to see the caliber of walk-on a team like Vandy takes.
