On the beach at Amelia, wondering what fans from Montana are doing today.
“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
You can count me among the envious, Senator. Yell extra loudly for me.

A wise man once told me that you can’t complain about any beer given to you. However, the temperature at which it is served is fair game.

I thought there was a liquor store down in the shopping center where you turn left to head to the Plantation

There is, fortunately.

Shoot – cold, warm, domestic, fancy-pants – that’s at least 1 more than I’ve had yet today – count me among the envious as well!
Pull’em thru Senator! Go Dawgs!

That photo you posted makes me want to fix a pitcher of Margaritas, jump in my Toyotamobile with my Dawg flags flyin’, & drive all night…if I show up under your balcony at about 3 AM & woof will you let me in? I think I know which golf course & hole that is…

I like my fancy beer as much as any beer snob. I really like NB’s “Mighty Arrow” and “2 Below” but, of course, the Fat Tire kicks butt also. My all-time fav is Rogue’s “Dead Guy Ale.” However, sometimes there’s nothing better than a good old-fashioned, mass-produced domestic especially when it comes to drinking fast and furious. But, I do have a pair, so I drink Bud or Coors Banquet when it comes to that.
Just having some fun with you, Mr. Senator. Have a blast and bring us home a W!

Flew that area with an friend involved in a dolphin count program. You would be surprised at the number of sharks and how close they are to shore. Always weirded me out afterwards if I spent anytime in the water.

Shark Week pretty much cured me of any notions I had that there were not sharks between “me and that sandbar out there.”

Just make sure you swim with at least one other person. That first person cuts your odds of being attacked greatly. 🙂
I say that as a surfer that occasionally still gets weired out.

Shark Week convinced me there’re bullsharks all over the place. And no river is safe until you get to a dam.

A guy I work with has a cousin in the Coast Guard in copters, and he told me how much the guy talks about the number of sharks you can see out there swimming with the people.

Bull sharks are no joke. I hope we’re that nasty tomorrow come 3:30.

I took a boat ride from PC to Cape San Blas with some friends last summer. One of the guys jumped overboard to cool off when we stopped. Off the tip of the cape is the best shark fishing area in north Florida. When we told the swimmer that he would make better bait if he splashed around a little he was back in the boat like he had been shot out of a cannon.

Hey, if the wind is bad enough you’re better off skulling it! Can you see the main pool from there? Can’t remember how far the view wraps around. They are supposed to be giving it a substantial face lift sometime this year.

The new Southwest Bypass makes me wonder if there’s a shortcut thru Silver Creek from Hwy 27 to Hwy 101…if so would cut my travel time to Jax by 10 minutes. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about your handle might be referring to a different Silver Creek.)

Glad you’re having fun, but….you don’t need for there to be a football game to go to the beach, drink beer and play golf. You can do that any time you want. Really.

Thank goodness! If that were the case, football season would have to last all year long.

Actually, I do it all the time w/o the football.

Absolutely and there’s nothing wrong at all with throwing in a Georgia-Florida game after a little beach, beer and golf. I think the pic above shows that to be the case. Why punish the fans just because our coaches haven’t quite figured out yet how to win with regularity in Jax? I have accepted no money from the Chambers of Commerce in Duval County for the above ad but it’s not because I haven’t tried.

That picture is from Nassau County–not anything in Duval County. The other nice beaches are in Ponte Vedra–in St. Johns County. Duval County doesn’t have too much about which to brag .

Bunch of pansy beer drinkers on here. Not sure I’ve ever seen someone throw back ten plus fat tires or any of the other fancy beers – not that those beers aren’t good. I do know some folks that think a 12 pack of Bud Light or Corona per person is not enough beer for the day – from experience with them, they are right.

I go camping with guys who bring one CASE per night and still run out. Yes, I’ve been with them on four night trips when they brought four cases per person with them and still ran to the store on the fourth afternoon.
I usually budget six per night and bring beer home. I’m not in their league…

That’s a strong group. Bet they are a lot of fun. I still remember the time I was using a urinal at the GA Dome before some UGA game there years ago when someone made a comment about the amount of time I had been at the urinal after an afternoon spent outside at the dome. Another guy heard it and said, “He’s a Dawg, they’re professionals.”

Come on. Help a Dawg brother stuck in Texas out. I’ve been going to Jax over 25 years and I’ve moved to Texas recently. Now this week of ALL weeks I’m bummed I’m not down there. There’s ALWAYS a band playing at the Plantation on Friday night. Who’s there tonight?

You can sneak into that place, if you pretend you’re working for the caterers…
They stop looking at armbands about 9 or so…last time I was at the plantation, they were selling Yuenglings (sp?) for a buck apiece, introducing a new beer to the Jax area.
Nothing, of course, will ever be better than Bad Frog (“He Just Don’t Care”)

Nice place, bad beer. Go with a European beer, preferrably a nice Belgian Ale. If you have to do domestic and it’s not a microbrew, do a Sam Adams.
