    Samuel has been coming on for three weeks…obviously some things Crowell can do that he cant, but man….does he hit the hole full blast or what?

      Figgins could have, but UGA class was the name of the victory formation that followed. Some will and have said we didn’t want to lose the ball on the last play, but if Meyers was still there I believe that we would have taken a time out and crashed through.

    I’m sure FL will somehow take offense to R Samuel and use his performance as motivation for next year. They’ll take the game as an affront to their belief that they should never lose to GA and make it a big deal. Then they’ll mention the celebration as a reason to get up for the next 37 cocktail parties.

        Can’t find that info anywhere, Leland. USA Today is a good source and up to date on injuries (Lee is listed today) , but IV isn’t even on there with a bad ankle sprain as Richt stated.

        By the way, remarks have been made and rumor started as to why Israel Troupe hasn’t been at the games. Read USA and you would have seen him listed with a knee injury over two weeks ago. He will be back soon. It was implied that mj was the problem. That’s Pome de Rue!

    Richard was a great story on Saturday. You want to talk about a guy that puts the team first, and has for his entire career, that’s Richard Samuel. He has changed positions twice, and he’s worked hard to help this team win. It’s awesome that he got to ice the game the way he did. Damn Good Dawg.

    The guy that is becoming my favorite player on this team is Jarvis Jones, though. It’s pretty rare for the guy who might just be your most deadly weapon on defense to also be one of the least flashy guys on the team. Go back and watch the replay of him crushing that Gator to cause the second fumble. The dude just murders the guy and then stands up, looks behind himself and goes… “oh, the ball’s out.” and gives an almost half-hearted first down signal. Go look at his sacks. He just jumps up and runs back to his teammates, gives a high five and goes back to work. Everybody has at least a little me-first in them… but Jarvis Jones seems to have less of it than I do. He doesn’t try to do anything to get the camera to focus on him after the whistle… and he does everything in his power to be the focus before the whistle. He even said he wasn’t doing interviews leading up to the game because he wanted to have uninterrupted focus on the game. Add to it the comments he made afterwards about wanting to stick around for a while, and you’ve got a guy that I’m damn proud to have on my side. Thank you for being a moron, Lane Kiffin.

        Thanks for posting that. I’m from Columbus, so I always hope the guys from there do well. I was a little worried that Jarvis would come in almost like some sort of mercenary considering that he went to USC first. But I’m proud of the way he’s bought in and has become a true Bulldog. Georgia-Florida mattered to him because he’s a Dawg. I look forward to watching him play on.

            He evoke a like for him by being nonassuming and appreciative for the second chance UGA gave him and as if to say he appreciates the way he was welcomed back into the Georgia fold. Above all, I like his maturity. He knows he is a man among boys and he carries himself that way.

      Right now today – the team MVP’s should be Jarvis Jones and Brandon Boykin with an assist to Kwame Geathers.

      Each week – win or lose – Jones and Boykin have played as hard as any UGA player since Pollack. To me it seems like those guys just enjoy playing football and give maximum effort at all times. It seems like one of them are in on every good play for the Dawgs.

      Geathers has been really good up front this year too.

        Good call on Boykin. Before the year, we were asking where the David Pollack/Thomas Davis type leaders had gone. Well, we’ve got them. I wish like crazy we could bring Boykin back again next year. I’ve enjoyed watching him turn into a solid SEC corner.

          And he won’t go until the 2-3 round. And he’s 5th on the DE list right now. Some years they need them like crazy, others they act like they are falling out of the trees all over the place.

      On one of his sacks, he helped Brantley back to his feet. Some may not like that, but I think it speaks volumes. He is currently one of my favorite players, not so much because of his great performance per se, but the way he is handling his success. I got to say, I like ol’ Boykin a lot, too.

    Really I think this is a good example of why we as fans should not give these kids such a hard time especially your freshman and sophomores, it takes some real time for an athelete to mature and adjust to the college game and because of the Herschel Walker, Marcus Lattimore, and David Greene’s of the world we forget how hard it is to make that transition for 95% of the kids, especially when someone has been Kiante Tripped like Richard Samuel 4.

      Totally agree … I had always thought the Kiante deserved more respect for what he did at UGA. He put the team first and did what was asked of him. He came him as pretty highly ranked recruit and as a phenomenal athlete. His career at Georgia never came together with the story book ending, but he did not complain publicly. He switched positions multiple times for the good of the team. I cannot remember him getting in any sort of off the field trouble. I hope for his sake that he has good memories of UGA and believes that the school and staff were up front and fair with him.

      Current ankle injury aside, Samuel still has some time left – so perhaps he can have a big ending to his UGA career. But it hard to root against him – perhaps the coaching staff has found better plays and formations for him to be successful on the field. Either way, we should be proud of him for the dignity and respect he pays to the football team.

    What I’m enjoying most about this win streak is that there is no soulja boy dancing, losing focus then penalty type of moments. The guys are looking focused and genuinely having fun in the right way

      I have seen the same thing. These kids are very grounded as compared to the 07-08 teams and seem to be genuinely having fun out there. Reminds me of the early Richt years where the teams just seemed so poised.

    The run he had prior to the dropped pass attempt was awesome. I cant be sure but I think it was Jelani Jenkins he ran over. TV didnt provide a good angle on the number of that kid.
