are highlights, of course.
As I said at the time, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a crazier game unfold in Sanford Stadium. Special teams play and defensive lapses (that Patterson TD run still blows my mind) were incredibly frustrating, but as the video shows, there were a lot of fun things going on, too.
Gurshall ruled.
Crazy fun game. Marshall let go of the ball before crossing the goal line at the 2:26 mark. I remember talking about that last year. Oh yeah….Senator, Gurley and Marshall do not like the Gurshall moniker.

So I’ve heard… but that’s what they went by at the time. 😉

Sweet….. Thanks Senator for the great wake up call.

really can’t wait to watch these guys this year. It should be a lot of fun. I love seeing Marshall “windmill” through defenders and then he hits the gas and is gone. Both are fast, Marshall is unfair fast.

Anytime the words “footrace is on” come up with Keith Marshall carrying the ball, it’s a good thing.

I like to think he’s waving goodbye to the defense and telling them I’m about to put it in another gear.

Great post. Gurley and Marshall were unbeatable that day. Our first half of the season defense was loafing on the Patterson TD run. Sigh.

yep, especially Tree – if you’re a Rams fan, that play should depress you.

The play of Jenkins in that game and on that play was a joke. A I said preseason. Fat is fat. And 355 is fat….unless you are 7’3″.

The d line was definitely disappointing that day. Bray had ALL day to throw. To your point, I hope our D line is much more athletic this year.

One of the most frustrating games of the Richt era – without the turnovers, special teams disasters and defensive lapses, we would have destroyed the Vols. We would have likely put up over 60 and won by 20+.

Speaking of frustrating Richt home games against the Vols, first thought after this year’s game was over was “at least it wasn’t 2004.”

’06 as well..up 17 loose by 18 (or vice versa on the scores). I know the ’06 Dawgs weren’t the ’04s, but still…

How anyone can watch this and not be ok with Garner leaving is beyond me. We played 2 excellent OLs last year, UT and Bama, that totally exposed how bad fundamentally his guys were.
Seriously, later Rodney.

+1. Glad it was the Barners that funded his payday. Still not a DC though.

Man. I’d forgotten just how many crazy long touchdown runs Marshall and Gurley had in that game. I knew they were special before the Tennessee game, but that’s when I realized we had two bona fide superstars in the backfield.

Ugh, I had forgotten how good Bennett was playing last year.
Must …not…imagine…SECCG with Bennnett….argh!

And don’t forget that Marlon Brown had finally figured out how to be a dominant player when he went down, too. If Georgia had Bennett and Brown in that SEC Championship Game…

That block in the back on the Patterson run remains blatantly obvious. Didn’t they pick up the flag on that for no apparent reason at all?

I thought that game was going to be a blistering beating until Georgia damn near gave the game away. When they weren’t stepping on their dicks and turning it over, the offense looked like the Wehrmacht going through the French army.

Preparing the battlefield was a key to that operation

You found them! They’ve had some funny and biting skits. This and the slave market skits were among the funniest.

Ugh. I was totally able to recapture the exact feeling of “Come on y’all! Crush their face already! Gah!!”
I’m not supposed to be able to get to there in June. I think I have a problem.

1-800-Charter won’t help either, I tried that for my CFB disorder….even named the Senator as a contributing cause. As much I would have loved to put a 3-4 TD whupping on the hillbillies, I never thought we were going to lose that game because I felt we could score any needed touchdown, from any distance and with any amount of time remaining. It was frustrating to watch us let them hang around when we had their number, could have been a blowout, and that group they had would have quit on SOD.

I foresee more games like that this year with an inexperienced D and a great O. I’m going to need a lot of anti anxiety meds.

Anyone think that S Williams hit at the 1:23 mark where UT scores would be a targeting call this year?

I do.

As I recall, they played the same way in the next game.
