“I could not have imagined that,” Bailey said. “Not at all.”

Me neither.

As for the Southeastern Conference stat nobody saw coming — (Sterling) Bailey’s 14 tackles and one sack through two games dwarf the six stops and one sack by South Carolina All-America defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

The line play in the first two games hasn’t been bad.  It’s been poor pursuit angles and missed tackles from the next levels that’s caused most of the damage so far.

The defending on the 75-yard run was just terrible. It was mostly the safeties’ fault & I know Richt mentioned it, but that is the sort of thing that has to be cleaned up before LSU so we can start actually stopping people now and again.

I’m cautiously optimistic given that we have a bye and a cupcake before LSU. However there’s a lot of work to be done between now and then.

Clowney said yesterday in the paper, “I can’t do it by myself”

I think once our younger LB/DBs adjust to the speed and strength of the SEC we’ll be fine.

Our defensive line has looked pretty good so far. Really happy with the hire of Chris Wilson.

How could Clowney do it by himself, you can’t when you spend so much time on the side lines getting oxygen and having sunshine blown up your A$$. I know his foot was hurting, and I don’t care… I’m just sayin’ “GO DAWGS”

This has already been mentioned I know but the 75 yard run was just horrible … Matthews’ angle was the stuff of a bad high school player. And 30 yards downfield, Langley is getting abused. Any insight on why Sheldon Dawson isn’t getting reps?

Why was Bailey on the bench all game during the secc? Was he in the dawg house, injured, or deemed not dependable enough? Seems he’s good enough to have given one of our DE’s a breather for a few plays. Or has Wilson coached him up so much that he’s a completely different player than the one CRG knew?

      Ding! Ding! Ding!

We have a winner. Bailey and Drew have shown they can and could have played. Even Washington is getting more playing time in the league than he did last year under CRG.

Getting Floyd more reps at ‘backer could help the pass rush too. As good as Jarvis was last year, what really helped him terrorize Driskel was that they put him and Jordan Jenkins out there to rush the passer for (I think) the 1st time all season.
