A merry GTP New Year!

Hope it’s a great one for all of you.

Meanwhile, let me share a number with you:  5,310,507.  That’s the number of hits recorded at the blog in 2014.  It represents better than a 25% increase in traffic over 2013.  That kind of increase is great in the early years, when you’re in the process of establishing an audience, but to record that in the eighth year of a college football blog?  Don’t know about you, but I’m well and truly impressed.

And grateful, of course.  It’s wonderful to have the traffic, but I’m also most appreciative of what a stout commenting group GTP enjoys.  Agree with me, disagree with me – it’s all good, because it’s the give and take of intelligent discussion that makes this such a great place to stop at and keep up with Georgia football and its surrounding environment.

If I don’t say it enough, you guys are the best.  Long may you run.

I usually get my UGA info from this site. If I get information from another site this is the first place I come to get your insights and the comments of the posters. I only wish you had more time or staff to get more news quickly. Thank you.

Quick read, insightful, and good thoughtful (most of the time) discussion about the Dawgs and college football in general. I appreciate what you do here.

Great Job. Now give me some names to rattle the cages with the McGarity issues other than Morehead. I’ve already written him and McGarity twice.

Remorseful about the high hijacking hijinks. It’s just that my sexagenarian years have become septua too early.

TMI about your sex life, but I agree…in over 5 million hits, when has there ever been an intelligent comment? BUT I’M ALWAYS RIGHT, DAMMIT!

Have and desire are two differing observations. I told my wife she was a sexagenarian and she threatened me with a “Filipino haircut”. It’s done with a knife and below the waist. But it’s her pointing and laughing that really kills it.

          Plus, the dogs wanna watch.

Thanks for all the time you put in to this thing, here… The cast of characters is as diverse as the Dawg Nation… One thing though, I wish you would back off being a constant apologist for Greg McGarity and Mark Richt.

I can’t understand how this blog keeps the hits right on coming. We have so little to discuss when it comes to Georgia football, and then again there’s the obvious reluctance on the part of DawgNation to offer opinions on the few matters that do surface.

Seriously, Senator, congrats on THE forum for UGA FB, and I’m betting the 30M number appears this time next year. Well done, sir!

If things keep growing here maybe the SEC network will offer big bucks to turn GTP into a TV show.

    Happy New Year Dawgs.
Thanks Senator for those 8 years. Want many more to come.
Watched the Ole Miss vs TCU and the MSU vs GT games.
Were both of those SECW teams vastly over-rated at the end of the season. Think so.
Were both of the QBs on those teams vastly over-rated and hyped. Hell yes! Now how did ESPN and the sports news world do that.
Just could be the entire SECW is over-rated. Dawgs kicked the hell out of Auburn and Arkansas.
MSU and Ole Miss should drop below the Dawgs in polls. Ole Miss and Bo Wallace were a disaster. How many pics did Wallace give up this season. Was too many for a guy who has played 5 years. Wallace and Garcia should write a book on QB fundamentals.
Perhaps McGarity woke this morning thinking his darling Mullen is no longer the genius coach he thought he was. Always felt this was the coach he wanted at UGA.
DCs. Les Miles needs to take a hard look at 2 DCs in the ACC. Roof at GT and Clemson’s. He could even conside Louisville. Grantham travels if the $s are right. Collins departure from MSU hurt that defense, but then his former HC bitched about him publicly after Ole Miss loss.
No one is talking football in the state of Mississippi this morn.
Calculus is a big deal for ESPN. Trying to figure out their joy camped in the French Quarters. Is that some holy grail spot for them. Oh, I forgot the only coaches are Saban and Meyer.

Spread offense. No 2 teams do as poor a job as Ole Miss and MSU. First they do not have the QBs. And more important the RBs.
GT will miss those 5th year seniors next season. And everyone on their schedule will put a little work into it during the season. More so those teams down the line.
Dawgs prep for them with Georgia Southern.
Is Napier coming to UGA? Or will Lilly get the upperward mobility package.
PS. Ring in the New Year by mailing in, or faxing, or emailing, or calling your local AD about your thoughts on the Dawgs. Just do not sit back and post here. Knock on the AD’s door.

Good Senator, I will tell you what legendary Dallas Cowboy running back Tony Dorsett told a group of reporters. When legendary coach Tom Landry stepped down as coach of the Cowboys. Dorsett was asked what he thought of Landry, after a pause he answered “He’s as good as the best and better than the rest”. Good Senator, You are as good as the best and better than the rest. PS my esteemed feline sidekick, ClydeBoogie who reads GTP with me everyday concurs!
