E.J. Price has a tough decision.

On the one hand, he’s got a lot of respect for Sam Pittman.

On the other, it appears he’s got a lot of respect for Auburn’s program, too.

Like I said, tough call.  (Tweet’s been taken down, but not before the world noticed.)

I had seen that UGA was trending with WR prospect Tre Nixon, but after seeing that his next 2 weekends would be at Oxford and Auburn and realized that wherever he ended up, he at least make a little pocket money before NSD.

Tweets like this remind us why pragmatic football fans give a wry smile and chuckle under their breath when the Senator and a chorus of ESPN analysts jiggle the tin cup for the poor, exploited college football player.

Some things never change. I guess it is comforting to know that Auburn is still as dirty as they have always been.

As slow as the ncaa wheels turn, do ya think they even notice such things?

Was the comment made “tongue in cheek”?

“down to two” OL recruits now, did I read that correctly? I am not a recruitnik at all but that seems pretty crazy, especially since we basically let one committed OL walk away this week. I am not challenging the worthiness of that recruit’s potential, as seen by the new staff, but I do think not communicating with him since early December (if true) is a strange way to run a railroad. And even if he may just be a tweener in regards to talent, with only two newbies on board I think I would have held on tight until I had my limit. A few phones calls, texts, etc, during the down period?

Is Pittman simply using the Roy Mercer line when talking to these candidates “well, how big a boy are you”? If so, I would continue to court any of those bigger than my current RBs until I had some replacements.

We also redshirted just about every, if not all the OL we took last year. Maybe we only need 3-4.

You are probably right, just seems we always tend to be short with that group. Still don’t like it IF we left a guy hanging with no feedback for six weeks, that ain’t right.

  8. I believe there was a lot of chatter in the weeks before EJ decommitted about he and a teammate at Archer not getting along to the point that they would not attend the same college. The teammate is already enrolled at his choice of schools and now EJ has that school in his final three. Am I correct or is my memory failing me?

It’s a line from a current rap song. I wouldn’t spend a lot of time reading into 17 year olds Twitter comments. Then again… He IS at Auburn.

So the guy that doesn’t care about recruiting until kids “sign on the dotted line” is posting excerpts from a child’s Twitter account 11 days before he signs on the dotted line?

    • To make a point about how the COA is being sold to recruits… sorry if that offends you.

No offense taken. Just having a little fun with you. It is tweet by a minor that has since been removed though. It probably doesn’t mean a damned thing or have anything to do with COA. Just thought that was a little funny.

    • Still, it is dumb for a recruit to say. It isn’t as bad as the pictures we see recruits post of wads of money, but it sill isn’t good and implies immaturity.

OTOH, what if a recruit takes cash and still doesn’t go to a program? Are they going to rat him out or would that put their program at great risk?

Auburn. The Uber of CFB. ‘Make good money driving….er enrolling’. The unregulated, smelly backseat, pick-up-whores of CFB. Knock-offs, bent bumpers and full ash trays of CFB.

I can see why SEC coaches thought those satellite camps were unfair. How would they ever overcome that competitive advantage. lol
