If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he’s asking to be mocked.
As I just tweeted, he’s like Mark Richt without the SEC championships.

Jones on this senior class: "They’ve won the biggest championship – that’s the championship of life”

As I just tweeted, he’s like Mark Richt without the SEC championships.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

In college football, losers talk about ‘life’ and ‘character’…winners talk about the dust on their rings…

Winners talk about dust? Boy howdy, that’s the life!

Losers—talk about about “life” and character”. Got it. Ooh boy, there is some major sadness on display these days.

So tired of this quote being misinterpreted to show what a beta loser Richt was.

Only the insecure who are humiliated by shit talking of coworker fans of other teams see the quote that way. Football is only enjoyable to them when they can use their team’s performance to boost their own ego. It’s pathetic as hell.

The idea that it’s a loser’s mentality to be proud of anything less than a national title is bullshit. Especially in a team sport. I’m sorry but David Pollock is a champion. Terry Hoage is a champion. Hines Ward is a champion. Nick Chubb is a champion. None of these guys need anything, much less a natty, to legitimize their careers at UGA.
We’re fans people. Our job is to support the team, good or bad, period. It isn’t the team’s job to be our surrogate achievers so that we can adopt their successes as our own while we guzzle booze and fill up on chicken wings.
I’m for Georgia whether 0 for next 100 or if we’re going after Oklahoma’s win record. If my team is playing, I’m watching and wanting a W. I’m a fan. That’s what I do.
Yes the teams that won titles are special, but the guys on the 1995 team and the 2015 fought like hell too. We shouldn’t dismiss them for failing to win trophies.

Because they learned sweeping sexual assault under the rug is okay? I am sure their parents are thrilled they play for Butch.

I wonder if they get a trophy for that ?

‘Richt without the SEC championships’ is harsh. Even without the championships, Booch’s best years are worse than Mark Richt’s average years. Booch is Tuberville without the titles.

You are insulting Tommy Tuberville with that statement.

That depends on whether or not they get to 10-3 this year, in which case his two best years would match Richt’s average. That said, check the amusing addition to Jones’ won-loss records on the wikipedia entry here:

Never mind. They already fixed it. It had “Life” under the 2016 “Bowl/playoffs”.

Richt may have had his faults as a coach, but no one questioned if he was a good person. Not sure the same can be said for Boooch

So some of the latest projections show UGA vs. Miami in the Belk Bowl….
I’m just gonna leave that here.

Kevin Butler said UGA should not allow that as it is a lose lose bowl game for us.

Agree, I see zero good from that game, plus we just went two years ago…different scenery please.

Same here. Nothing good will come of it.

I want to see that. It’s a story line that would keep us in the conversation as opposed to some meaningless game against a B1G opponent.
I don’t see why it’s lose-lose for us.

+1. The kids he recruited are still here. If he wins it will divide the fan base even more.

Why? Are you suggesting there is a portion of our fanbase that would pull for our former coach to beat our current team?

I’ve noticed since the advent of the playoffs the minor bowls have made a concerted effort to put together more “interesting” matchups. Ga vs. Richt would qualify as that.
Does anyone here have any confidence in the AD to veto that and demand we not play Miami? I don’t.

It is easier for espn to sell intrest in the games that have story lines. Besides McG can see it selling more tickets and when it comes to $ it doesn’t matter what the rest of us think.

He’s like Richt without the championships, or the integrity to snuff out sexual predators in his program, or national titles as a coordinator, or having coached heisman winners. So… not really all that much like Richt at all.
