Kirby talks about senior leadership:
“They’re not afraid to speak their mind, which I think is good in that setting,” Smart said of those seniors and that late-October meeting. “But they’re also not locker room lawyers…”
Ouch. If you prick us, do we not bleed?
Look at the bright side. He needed us, even if it’s just for a back handed compliment.

“To assure chaos” is always left off the Bard’s “First kill all the lawyers.”
C’est la vie, et tu Kirbus.

My cousin, a lawyer, is quick to tell you that quote is a compliment. However, can’t say I’ve ever seen bleed.

What would a “locker room lawyer” do that we wouldn’t want him to do?
In my admittedly self righteous view, a lawyer uses words persuasively to push others into action. What’s wrong with that?
I suppose a problem I can see is if the locker room lawyer sees an individual player as his client and not the team. That would be a problem. But that’s a problem of judgment, not of role.

I assume that with the loosened up purse strings under Kirby, UGA officially has a locker room lawyer. Fulltime position similar to what Huntley Johnson does at UF. Probably pays around $500,000 annually.
