“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

You would think he would be loved in Louisiana for doing something like this. And He’s obviously a successful coach. Someone will snag him up. I’m sure Harbaugh has a coaching position opening up next January.

I am not sure what the principle is thinking: firing a successful coach over a four year old policy (that seems be supportive of his players) because he talked about it? He might not have liked him talking but firing him seems to be the wrong thing to do here even if it is legal. It’s not as if Saban is going to hire the principle.

Meh! He was obviously looking for attention and got it.

“Coaches work at the pleasure of the principal and it was the decision of the administration to make a change in Parkway’s football program and go in a different direction”
Very Trump/Yates-esque

Legal? Yes. The right thing to do? Not at all the same question.

That’s the power of the Home Depot. And Nick Saban. But if Nick wanted that Parkway quarterback bad enough he would hire the fired coach on his support staff.

If that was in GA and the HS coach was very successful and well liked the principal would be unemployed.
I thought the hiring and firing of coaches ran through the local “Touchdown Club?”

Just speculating, but the coach sounds like a self righteous loose cannon.

I’m with the principal on this one but it seems he should have just overruled the guy instead of firing him. I just don’t believe any coach should have the power to ban anybody from a school campus. Is that really looking out for the kids being recruited? Just tell them Saban is a snake in the grass if you want to but don’t grandstand. Besides the college guys can go through the guidance counselor or find another way around it.
