Former Georgia linebacker coach returns to the SEC (h/t):
Former Vanderbilt linebackers coach Warren Belin has been hired in his old position, debuting at spring practice Monday.
Belin was the Commodores’ linebacker coach from 2002-09 under head coach Bobby Johnson. He will serve as the new outside linebackers coach under current head coach Derek Mason…
I thought he was a good position coach in Athens, but where I really thought he shined was with his special teams work. Too bad Smart didn’t grab him as an analyst last season.
… and then there’s Ekeler.

Who should become great under the brilliant, defensive guru Cheatzik. 🙂

Chizik retired. That’s why the spot opened up for Ekeler.

Oops, do recall now that he “chose” the family excuse and walked. Oh well, Chapel Hill is a great area to live and the stress will be less for him. But, he will now miss the chance to learn from one of the game’s “masters”. 🙂

He and the family still live in Auburn!

Guess he really meant he was “all in”. Hard to see why a man who could afford to move anywhere would choose that location.

I liked Belin and was sorry to see him leave. No question he’s a far superior coach compared to Beamer.
Beamer’s another example of a guy who wouldn’t be in the game if it weren’t for the accomplishments of his pappy. What Kirby sees in him I can’t fathom.

Would not be surprised if special teams is a mismatch in Vanderbilt’s favor in Nashville. Even more so than it was for them last year in Athens.
Just hope their offense coughs a few turnovers up to us to compensate.
