“Essentially, it seems Chase was bumped for a bigger name.”

If this ain’t a perfect example of what the recruiting process, circa 2017, has come to, I don’t know what is:  four-star recruit elects to postpone the announcement of his college commitment after his scheduled appearance on the NFL Network is cancelled due to a higher-rated recruit taking the spot to make his surprise announcement to commit instead.

In the linked story, check out the moral preening from the NOLA.com writer. Sure buddy.

Yeah, the “journalist” is appalled and furious about a high schooler not getting his chance to mug on national TV about something he may, or may not, do six months from now. Sounds a little hyperbolic to me for a seasoned journalist. Network TV tends to go with what they consider the top stories from what I have seen, good life lesson for “the children” to learn by age 17, if they hadn’t already figured that out.

Yep, television is stupid. I get that high school kids get their ego rubbed up to a nice ripe hard on when they have college coaches kissing their ass. It’s the people that run tv channels that I turn my nose up to.
