How ’bout a little Dawg porn today?

Observations from an ESPN talking head:

If you need to be off by yourself for a little while, I understand.

    Great…another throwaway season.

Chuckle. Of course being a contender is the highest level of throwaway you can hold. “Monster” sounds like a guaranteed NC after being considered a ‘contender’ the previous year.

I just finished with the O-line post. I’m not 21 anymore Bluto, I may have to save this one for tomorrow.

Hopefully ever year from now on he can use those last two statements and just change the dates.

  5. Relax man… Burns just see’s what a lot of people see. Georgia is a head of schedule. They were last year and this year’s team is going to be awfully good. And he nailed it. O-Line is going to carry the offense and while everyone is talking about concerns at Linebacker and in the secondary – the real concern is the depth on the D-line. If they stay healthy enough on the D-Line, there is a very good chance that UGA will be undefeated going into the SEC Championship game. This team could surprise…

But his 2nd point is valid. Georgia loses very little going into 2019. Notre Dame is coming to Athens, A&M coming to Athens, @ UT, @ Auburn, UF will likely be much stronger by this game. Difficult schedule where they really could win them all and then likely draw Alabama ‘again’ – as strong that team and as battle tested as they should be – strong chance that they will win those last two.

We all see this… What’s interesting is that folks outside of the program are starting to catch on too… No more – no less…

    Go Dawgs!

Yep, I’ve been yapping for quite a while that, on paper anyway, the 2019 team has the potential to be an all-timer. And I don’t mean an all-time UGA team, but rather an all-time NCAA team. Of course we need to hope there aren’t many major injuries, attrition, etc. for this to happen. In the meantime, 2018 will be a slight step back from last year’s squad, but I predict a fun season nonetheless.

If we have the same (good) luck with injuries this season as last, we’ll have a better season. Offense will be improved with a better OL, more experience at QB leading to better passing, and I still think the running game will be excellent.

Defense will be good, trending to excellent later in the season. Key will be minimizing injuries, especially on the DL.

Wouldn’t say better than last year’s team, but capable of being close to that by season’s end and the defense catches up. My concern is, how can you be that fortunate with injuries again? We make Atlanta, almost a certainty, after that it will be a struggle. 2019 is definitely the better chance to run the table.

Yep. Highly unlikely. We’ve already had more injuries this spring than all of last season. If we can just keep pace with the teams we play we should still be better, depending on the players of course. I haven’t taken the time to check LSU or Auburn’s depth but we should be just as deep. The DL may be the exception.

The only way to have a better season would be to win it all. Hope luck comes our way again with injuries and that you’re correct. Margin is razor thin on the DL.

The program is developing depth in a different way than during the CMR days. The 3s and 4s get just as many reps as the 1s and 2s, so when we talk about being thin, it’s a little different than before. Starting in June, half the roster makes up the best recruiting efforts in modern era UGA football, so there’s a good reason to believe in the trajectory. It’s real. And with UF and UT rebuilding, it couldn’t happen at a better time. Now is the time to capitalize, because the cards are as stacked in our favor as they can be…

Just curious if any talking heads think 120 FBS division I teams fall under the “possible” category…thanks Peter glad you showed your pair today!

Guys, I’ve been a Dawg fan for 50 years, a coherent one for 35. I do not ever remember feeling secure in the off season like this. I remember face plants, foot shots, and downright ass-whippings that were bestowed upon us as we drank the kool-aid through the late 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. This is not the same. There is no feel-good vibe around the program now. Every now and then you meet someone or a group of someone’s who are just good at what they do. They don’t brag, they don’t say much at all, but you point them at something and turn them loose and it is a pleasure to watch them do what they do. It won’t make sense to most, but after a lifetime of managing people and teams of people you learn how to spot the ones that will be successful and will help you be successful. You learn to spot the bullshit artists and the smoke blowers. I do not get that vibe from this team. I may be wrong, but my gut feel tells me that we are on the ascending arc of this thing and it’s gonna be a fun, fun ride.

A little disappointing outlook. Everyone knows NCAA Football was much better on the PS4.
