Already a comment about “putting the mortgage” on that South Carolina number…they are nothing, if not predictable fans.

Haha, I saw that. If you’re a South Carolina fan willing to bet your mortgage on the cocks winning more than 7 games, you must not have been a Carolina fan for very long.

come on guys the mortgage on a double-wide in Aiken can’t really be that much money can it? $40.00 a week ain’ t that much. It’s the $849.00 lease on their Escalade that’s wrecking Cocky’s budget.

Can everyone in the SEC east except UGA really go 7-5?

I hope so…but agree, the math seems hard, unless they beat up on one another..

It almost happened last year, so yes, it’s possible. The only team besides Georgia to win 8 regular season games had fluky wins over NC State and LA Tech to go with narrow victories over Tennessee and Vandy. If South Carolina had lost any one of those games, they, Kentucky and Missouri would have been in a three-way tie for second at 7-5 (4-4).

Excuse my idiocy, since they obviously would have remained 5-3 in the SEC if they’d lost either of those out-of-conference games.

We get your drift BR. Georgia was the only good team in the SEC East last season. Everybody else was mediocre or bad. I expect the same this season.

SEC East projected wins by ESPN FPI

MO 7.3
USC 7.2
UT 5.8

Wow!

I would by SC and sell MO

Me too. I think SC will be competent but only occasionally beat UGA or CU in their current forms. I know MO went on a tear at the end but if they don’t fix their defense and SOD’s “throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks” offensive philosophy works as poorly as I assume it will, then MO will drop down next to UK.

Look at The schedule for SC. If they don’t win 7-8 games this season is a huge disappointment. They could be favored in 10 games including the bowl. That is as good of a Vegas bet as you can get.

I looked at the 2018 USCe schedule and only see 2 sure losses–to UGA and Clemmons. The Cocks could lose to FU in Gainesville and ATM in Columbia, but I think it is likely they will win at least 1 of those games. Not losing to UT in Columbia, UK in Lexington or Mizzou (who is sinking like a rock with SOD as OC) in Columbia SC. The rest are walkovers.

There may be mass suicides in Columbia if the chickens only win 7 games this season. Their fans are pretty convinced they are going 10-2, beating Georgia and winning the East this season.

Seriously? I have pretty much been ignoring them as usual. Where on the intertubes would you recommend one go to observe this bravado?

That order looks about right, Kentucky might be a little low but what does that matter? 4th, 5th, or 6th is still not contending. I don’t know if all the love for Muschamp is because he is a much better salesman than coach, but the Cock fans are lapping it up. I think 4th in the East is about right, wouldn’t be surprised if they were one spot lower, or higher, because it is pretty tight between 2 or 3 schools. Depends on how fast they recover from that loss to UGA early in the season several of them, air will go out of their fantasy balloon pretty quickly.

Honestly, SC has no business finishing outside the top 3 this year. Everybody else is either rebuilding or lack the talent SC has. I’d peg them at 8-9 wins.

Can’t argue that, my guess is 8-4.

Clearly people are buying Dan Mullen at UF. 8 wins strikes me as the ceiling for that team this year.

If I had to pick two to do it? LSU and Auburn. But I don’t think we lose to both of them, LSU is probably a tougher game simply because it’s at Death Valley.
