“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

Oh this seasons moments in running. UT calling out Chubb had to be one of the better ones. “Bold move Cotton…”

The hits just keep coming from the dynamic duo. During Maria Taylor’s interview with Sony & Nick, Sony reflected on how he felt so fortunate to have Nick as a best friend for the rest of their lives. Kirby would be wise to get the tape and show it to every recruit.

I don’t get why Sony is projected to be a higher draft pick than Chubb. I think both will be good players in the NFL but Chubb was the starter his whole career. I get that Chubb was 1 and Michel was 1A but still….

Michel’s game translates to the next level marginally better than Chubb’s. Sony was used more in a receiving role and seemed to be a better in pass pro. Sony made a big difference especially early on as a special teams player.
I could see it either way, but I’ve always thought Sony was a better pro prospect than Nick.

Agreed, Sony was lined up at the slot at times. Sony has a bit more top end speed, and has the perception as being the better of the 2 as a receiver.

Chubb turned in a faster 40 time at the NFL Combine than Michel did.

I saw that and was surprised. Chubb certainly helped himself. However, the statement was more from the perception of break away speed down field. Sony had longer TD runs and Chubb was run down a few times. For instance Chubb had a 50 yarder against OU which was not a TD, Sony had a 75 yard run for a TD again in the Rose. It maybe splitting hairs and if this biggest argument between 2 RBs, you have great RBs. Just explaining the expected higher draft by the NFL bobble heads. The NFL likes the receiving skills and perceived speed in space. I think Chubb will also surprise many nonUGA fans with his catching skills.

I am also a bit surprise Guice is rated higher than Chubb/Michel by some. UGA has a history of turning out RBs that can catch and know how to pick up pass protection which is important in the NFL. Skills between the 3 and Barkley IMO are a toss up. You may trade speed and power at various points but all 4 have major potential in the NFL. I am biased but for most NFL offenses Michel is the top pick at RB in my opinion.

All of that aside, I surely wouldn’t want to be the foolish GMs that tell NC27 he is unable to do something by words or by actions.

Very first picture I saw of Mr. Chubb sold me on what his athletic potential was. Add in his character and drive and you have the mix to make a star at any level.

Bill Connelly had a really interesting piece on college running backs and translating to the NFL.
