Today at lunch, with ESPN on in the background, I was joking with someone that all Mickey will be able to run for the next couple of months will be its usual speculation tied relentlessly to the coronavirus — “How Will The Red Sox-Yankees Rivalry Be Affected By The Coronavirus Shutdown?”, “How Will The Coronavirus Shutdown Impact LeBron’s Legacy?”, etc.
You can add this one to the mix.
It’s gonna be a long summer.
Serious question Senator, no snark. If the Dawgs have to completely forgo spring practice do the NCAA rules allow (or will the NCAA allow as an exception) Georgia to tack on 15 extra practices in front of summer camp? That is, start summer camp 3 weeks or so earlier and go straight through until the end of the season?

Beat me to it! I fully expect an added week at least

If everybody misses spring practice everybody will be in the same boat so it is really a moot point.

Not really. We’re breaking in a new QB and a new OC with a new offense supposedly. Plus half the OL is gone from last year and we have a new OL coach who is still trying to figure out which players to play at what positions. Compare that with Bama(our 3rd game) That has the guy who started basically the last 3rd of the season at QB returning and pretty much the rest of their O intact including their OC. Sorry, but I think those 15 practices are going to be pretty damn important before we have to play Bama in T-town!

I think we are all assuming there will be a season to prepare for.
With a vaccine still a year away, we may not have a season. Will the NCAA grant players and additional year of eligibility?
Will Newman be able to come back as a 5th year Corona-shirt senior?

I think it will be much much more settled by June.

Hey, the Dawgs won the last game they played in the SEC tournament. That means they must be champions, right?

Sorry, UCF has already claimed the NCAA Men’s Basketball title for 2020. Women’s too, actually. And they’re also expected to take home the Stanley Cup.

We’re pretty good in SEC basketball tournaments whenever there’s a crisis of some sort–maybe it’s a tornado, maybe a virus.

How Georgia would it be if the NCAA allows the football games be played with no fans in attendance and it is the year they win the MNC. FML

Best comment ever. Yes, if our team wins it all, this is how it will happen. Oh, and it will be Dawgraded.

I expect a “winners and losers of the coronavirus pandemic” story from Connor Riley at DawgNation any moment now.

Also, I know a small gathering like tech’s Spring game is safe, but shouldn’t attendance at most of their home games at Grant Field fall below the cut-off as well?
