I figure not being fully realized human beings the ditch lizard nation is bound to regress before progress. Oct 29 about sundown they’ll be right back to #1, shock and denial.

          My favorite comment…

Anytime I start to feel down, I go to the Florida 247 message board so I can find people more miserable than myself. Helps put your day in perspective.

Followed by this one as a close second🤣🤣🤣😁

We will be a middle of the road SEC team who can compete every so often with this admin. No matter who is the coach, assistants hired, and schemes used, we won’t be out of this cycle of being middle of road until the school changes with this new era. The admin is hell bent on image and academics and football is an after thought now.

No point in even following recruiting until the admin wants to play with the big boys.

Loved the Napier hire and think he can do well but unfortunately he was hired in the wrong era.

Oh wait, I misspoke, here’s another winner…please keep all sharp objects away from UF fans until after the season ends.

“Honestly, I wonder if UF could leave the SEC. It’s clearly too much of a pressure cooker for the administration. I know the AAC could use a new Florida team. That could be more the admin’s speed.”

          I just can’t follow Kirby’s directive…
“Don’t say shit to their undisciplined asses!”
“Just point to the scoreboard and laugh!”
I can point and laugh, and laugh, and laugh,
          then say…

  2. Napier is a proven program-builder with the chops to eventually win some games at UF. The problem is the fan base is so entitled they’re liable to run him off if he doesn’t make the playoff by Year 3. I would say “Someone needs to remind them they haven’t accomplished squat outside of Spurrier and Meyer,” but Georgia fans do that all the time and it doesn’t seem to have gotten through.

Not to worry reminding the gators of the proper place is very high on Kirby’s todo list annually.

Eh, it’s one thing to build a program at Louisiana. Stepping up to the next level has ended many a promising career. Which isn’t to say he’ll fail. Hell, in 2023, we might be talking about the huge Gator turnaround for all I know. I just don’t consider that a very likely outcome at the moment.

This is the camp I’m in as well. The odds are HEAVILY stacked against coaches nowadays. If you are at a major program and haven’t come close to expectations by year 3, you will be out on your can.

    • Not sure there’s ever been a comment since I’ve been coming here that has been more embraced by everyone than this one! Succinct, simple, to the point, and dead square in the middle of the bullseye as far as the way UGA’s fan base feels towards all things gator.

Recruiting swings and misses. UF has had more four and five star recruits show at least some interest in UF this summer than they ever did under Mullen. And UF faithful thought Napier was going to close the deal on some of them. Then the four star QB kid mentioned in the Tweet decided to go down to Miami and word is he is now trending towards Miami. Five star CB AJ Harris chose Georgia over UF. The state of Florida has 20 kids in the ESPN top 100 list for 2023 (three in the top 10). Of the state of Florida’s top 30 recruits, 8 have already picked their schools. 22 are still undecided. As of right now, Ohio State has three of the top 30, Georgia has 2 of the top 30, and Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame have 1 each.

I’m really surprised by this. The other day when people were wondering when the honeymoon with little Billy would be over I honestly thought it would be years. I was basing that on their reaction to Sideshow Dan. It wasn’t until after Georgia beat them last year that they finally stopped with offensive genius bullshit and faced the reality that no he didn’t do less with more and should have been fired for recruiting malpractice. They cling to the smoke and mirrors image of Mullen for a long time. I thought they would do the same with Napier because they were so sky high on him before he was even hired. It sounds like they’re turning on him already. I have no idea what kind of coach he actually is and I do t really care. They have got such disfunction down there that I’m pretty confident he won’t be able to fix it. And I’m glad.

That obviously should have been “he didn’t do more with less.” He definitely did less with more. Trash ride the line in favor of goat boy.

Well, they finally realized you have to recruit to win. Napier was promised to be an elite recruiter, and so far, they haven’t seen any recruiting victories.

And you would think they wouldn’t have had to learn that. Corch based that whole thing on recruiting. Boom was a pretty good recruiter on the defensive side. And for some reason Mullen got a pass for his unrecruiting.

Their problem with Mullens was his recruiting. They thought Napier had the chops to reel in a top 5 class in year one. Napier got what he wanted from the admin as far as staffers, analysts, etc. and the recruiting hasn’t taken off.

Down in Hogtown, I hope they continue the trend of firing coaches. It seems like they’re addicted now, and have started to take less time before looking for the next fix.

UF has the worst fanbase in all of football. The only two coaches who were successful there despite their tradition of mediocrity, at best, quit to get away from them one of whom had a physical and mental breakdown. Both were probably top ten all time coaches.

It’s probably worth noting that cherry-picked message board posts don’t necessarily convey the feelings of the entire fan base. My impression of the Gator fan base at large is that they’re pretty excited about Napier. No idea if they’d stay that way if he goes 7-5 this year, but they seem to have a favorable impression of him. I’m sure you could find negative posts about Kirby the week after the SEC Championship Game or certainly after Fields left, despite the fact the overwhelming majority of us were solidly behind him.

Yup; they have had three or four kids that they thought were coming commit elsewhere, including AJ Harris. Then there were two more that committed to other schools, came out yesterday that a 4Star Tackle out of Orlando that they thought they were getting was now a hard lean to Michigan State and then there is a 5-star QB (Rashada) that they just knew they had. This kid is dialing for $$$ and it appears that Miami is going to be the sweepstakes winner.

They have gone from “we getting everybody” to “Fire Billy” and the administration in a two week span…

    You hate to see it…

Sometimes you just have a problem with a head coach. Sometimes it runs deeper, and I think FU has some kind of a deep problem that runs on a through-line from Meyer’s last season to the next three guys and counting. The job has gone from a reload to a rebuild to a career-killer. Three straight guys imploding in-season. Ten years of quarterback problems and the offenses of Spurrier and Tebow are a distant memory instead of a program legacy. While Miami and FSU have swooned they’ve made nothing of it in-state. I have no idea what’s really going on there but it’s not making me too sad. When Appleby and Washington were beating them they were losers, but did not have the prison-pallor they have acquired in this last decade of bumbling ineptitude in Boss Hogtown. Maybe Napier can fix it. Maybe he won’t be Bad Hire #4. But all I see is good times ahead.

I don’t know if Napier is engaging in any Mike Price like conduct but its starting to feel like there might be some Price-like buyers remorse from the Gator faithful.

Napier probably should stay away from the “shoe shows” in Pensacola.

It’s a real shame Katie Turner left Georgia to go work for Napier. She was a key cog in Kirby’s re rioting machine, but of course, Kirby has set it up to be bigger than any one person so it’ll be fine.

It just sucks for her that she hitched her wagon to such a pathetic lead horse.

She was with Napier at Louisiana and left there just a year earlier to join Georgia. Agree. Huge miscalculation on her part. I do think she was the reason Mimms and Smith were rumored to be going there; but they didn’t pull it off. And as each year goes by, she has less influence. Add to it, the struggles they are having on the recruiting trail right now and a real chance at a .500 record or worse…

      Should have stayed at UGA.
