My Week Nine Mumme Poll ballot

A few more of last week’s top ten managed to spit the bit.  I feel sorry for anyone who has to fashion 25 teams in order on a ballot this week.

It’ll probably get tougher.

  1. Out goes Kansas State, in goes Nebraska.
  2. I wasn’t looking to keep Clemson in my top ten, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to put another team there.  I did think about Michigan and Penn State, though.  (See what I mean?)
  3. I bet the Georgia tally shoots up a bunch this week.
  4. Sorry, Houston, still can’t do it.  That’s a pathetic schedule you’ve got.
  5. Twenty minutes to put it together – eighteen of those on the last spot.

    As long as Richt stay out of his comfort zone, UGA will continue to win. And despite the wins UGA has not covered the point spread.

    What an awful week to try to do this poll. I honesty do feel for anybody that has to actually rank 25 teams.

    I end up at the same place as the Senator, but I don’t like it. Spent 20 minutes on this poll, roughly 15 of them on whether I could just vote for seven teams and exclude Nebraska, Arkansas, and Clemson. All three teams have been blasted on the road, but Arkansas’ loss is not nearly as bad as the Clemson and Nebraska losses. But then again, Arkansas should have lost to Vanderbilt this weekend. Seriously considered Houston for about 10 seconds then came to the same conclusion re: weak schedule.

    I really wanted to only pick 8 teams (and Arkansas is very borderline right now). Nebraska and VA Tech were last out, Clemson and South Carolina the last in. Nebraska played well Saturday, but their offense is so one-dimensional and I don’t think their game travels well. VA Tech got drilled at home by Clemson. I held my nose and put South Carolina in because they keep winning and their defense is playing well. I expect them to be out next week.

    Thought Ark, Va Tech and P St were better than some others.GT took care of Clem and showed their vulnerability enough for me to leave them off. P St was for sentimental and for being 8-1 this crazy year. Look who beat them.

    Consistently I’ve argued why Bama is #1. Looks like Vegas agrees with me this week. I’ll take that. Argument over.
