Ben Mauk to NCAA: You’re not the boss of me!

Mauk has sued the NCAA over its refusal to grant him a sixth year of eligibility.  Best of all, he’s gotten a sympathetic judge to issue a restraining order prohibiting the NCAA from stopping him from practicing with Cincinnati.  Hey, if the judge refuses to hold a hearing on this until next January, Mauk is home free.

If that works, maybe Herschel could sue to get his last year of eligibility back.

Somebody needs to kick the NCAA in the butt every so often just to remind them they aren’t the gods of the sporting world. I like the part about him making the NCAA money, that should shake them up. I smell money damages.

Remember when Oklahoma and Georgia sued them for the TV rights. They investigated both of us for everything after that.

I don’t know the whole story but good for the kid. In the immortal words Public Enemy “Fight the Power”.

Just curious, but does anyone know why Mauk left Wake for Cincinnati in the first place?

  5. Riley Skinner became the starting QB when Mauk got hurt. Mauk wasn’t able to reclaim the job when he came back.

as for Herschel…he’s packed some muscle on these days. He’d be scary if he’s near as fast as he used to be
