To be honest, this gets me down a little, because that UT 2004 debacle resonates with me in thinking about Saturday’s game. Until very late in that game, Georgia was all thumbs on offense, and on defense, the secondary (particularly Thomas Davis) was repeatedly embarrassed on play action.
In 2004, Georgia was a huge favorite, but came in flat and got taken by an inferior team with an inexperienced QB who made just enough plays to win the game.
Knowshon Moreno’s right elbow injury has had no impact on how he’s running the ball in practice, according to running backs coach Tony Ball said.
Ball called Monday and Tuesday’s practices for Moreno “probably the two best practices he’s had since his freshmen year.”
Asked in what way they stood out for Moreno, Ball said, “He was just fast.”
Damn, I like hearing that.
Get The Picture 
Don’t forget that Paul Oliver was absolutely abused in that 04 game as well. That game was like a comedy of errors, only it wasn’t funny. The things that vividly stick out in my mind about that game: UT going for broke on 4th down on the first drive of the game(they knew they had to play over their heads to win), Reggie missing a touchdown by about an inch in the back of the endzone, a HORRIBLE holding call on Pope on a KO return, Danny Ware getting in the endzone late in the 4th, the refs missing it, and it taking us another 1:30 off the clock to get it in(on 4th down), and finally, Pope breaking off his route on the last play of the game.
I have a very uneasy feeling about this game. I don’t like what we’re hearing from Richt and I don’t like that UT knows they can run it on us. I’m afraid we’re going to get sick of seeing play action roll-outs.

What’s so unsettling to me is the talk from so many about how this should be an easy win. Of course it should be, but history shows it won’t! Only a select few vols know what its like to lose to UGA – unfotunately the majority of them know all too well what its like to prove they’re no underdog.

You hit on all my bad memories from that game. What I remember even more clearly was this feeling of utter disbelief – like my TV was broken or something.
The Reggie Brown almost TV was the back breaker for me. Our late push was, as always, a credit to CMR for getting the team to keep fighting, but it wasn’t our day.
And Ally is +1 as well because the vibes right now are sketchy at best. UGA is going to get UT’s best on Saturday….I hope they are ready.

What sticks out in my mind about the ’04 UT game is the beating we administered to LSU the week prior. We were already being hyped as a NC contender and the hype just exploded after that LSU game. Then we preceded to lay a big fat egg. Another thing I remember about the game was the number of passes blocked at the line of scrimmage. Either Greene would bounce it off a lineman’s helmet or a d-lineman would block it. It drove me nuts.
With the a$$ beating we took last week we cannot afford to overlook any team remaining on our schedule. PERIOD.

It’s hard to imagine a Mark Richt coached team won’t come out ready to play for this one. We’ll be ready to play on Saturday. I think our boys want to make a point. At the end of the day, though, we’ll take a victory.
