Meme Fail.

Shockingly, Mark Richt’s name is nowhere to be found on Coaches Hot Seat Blog’s final 2009-2010 Top 10 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings.  I guess Joe didn’t get the memo.

    In just about all of those cases, the athletic department went to the deep end of the pool thinking they were ready to swim, but now find themselves under water.

    Fridge can’t be fired. Maryland can’t afford it. Hawkins, it turns out, isn’t really that good of a coach. Anybody that saw Boise ‘tween the hedges in ’05 could have predicted that he wasn’t ready for the big time.

    Mike Sherman’s contract is a slap in the face to all that is rational. The spread doesn’t fit in Michigan, which isn’t really a shock. Arizona State is just one giant clustercuss. They can’t seem to find the right piece to fit in their rectagonal hole. Ron Zook (that is all). Washington State is a tough place to win. Ditto, Minnesota.

    I personally think Mike Locksley is faaar too low on that list. And, as long as Kiffin keeps the crew together (which, at this point, I can’t imagine Orgeron getting a job anywhere else), USC will win 10 games or so, play in a few Rose Bowls, and will be an elite-ish team for the next few years. When coaches start leaving, then the trouble will start.

    All of this makes me appreciate how Damon Evans and Mark Richt conduct their business. (Damn, Disney Dawgs.)

    CMR is a great coach, people were pissed because of the defense and they felt changes were needed, which happened, with that alone i think we are all sure that at the very least 3 more wins next year.

    I do not believe nor do I want Coach Richt on the hot seat.

    However, he has to do something about his struggling offense.

    Something that he has not done in recruiting impact players this year for that staff on offense he compiled.

    That does not sound very good to me, and not getting recruits on offense this season to assist the offense, is an Indictment on his assembled offensive coaching staff by the recruits themselves who should look at these facts about our offense and see their opportunity.

    Instead, they look at it as I do. It is a no fun offense that hasn’t done a damn thing in years and years and years except fumble, throw interceptions and start at 1st and 15 because of penalties.

      You can fight the stats, but I saw an revealing stat a few weeks ago which showed that GA’s offense was the second most efficient in the conference, behind Arkansas. This is measured in points per play, which is also heavily correlated with time of possession and turnovers.

      If we can fix this defense and stop committing stupid penalties and turnovers, we could be a very good offense.

      I have never thought of Bobo as the problem.

    You can’t fire the offensive and defensive staff in the same off-season. How would we have recruited?

    Defensive coaching problems had to be attended to first and they were. Now let’s kick back, enjoy the season and see if other changes may be necessary. I am not convinced they are but CMR has proven he will view the entire program with open eyes.
