The most trusting soul in the world is…

Derek Dooley.

… Dooley said he doesn’t place limitations on where his players can go or even subject them to a curfew.

“We don’t have a curfew,” Dooley said. “We ask them to use good judgment and he didn’t use good judgment.”

Because who is more grounded than your typical 18-year old away from home for the first time in his life?

He did apologize, after all.

Uh, Coach Dooley, were you not paying attention when some of your players started a preseason bar brawl and ended up beating an off-duty cop unconscious? You are on record as saying that you had to teach your players how to cleanse themselves properly in the shower, and yet you think they’re OK out on their own after midnight in seedy Knoxville, Tennessee?

“No suspension for Tennessee freshman arrested for assault…
for allegedly punching a man in the back of the head and hitting and kicking him while he was on the ground,”

No suspension given because the freshman was at least trying to Finish The Drill.

    Sigh.

Grantham makes a gesture at a kid WHO SIGNED UP TO PLAY A COMPETITIVE SPORT, King thinks someone else payed a speeding ticket, and both either should be or were suspended.

UT players make a shocking habit of beating other human beings while they are on the ground (after they knock them there) and nothing happens.

UF players threaten the lives of others by shooting assault weapons or direct threats, and next to nothing happens.

The next person who says CMR has a discipline issue on his team needs to realize that our fan base has the bigger problem.

Perhaps the player was reenacting the assault on Point Du Hoc, showing Coach Dooley the improvisational tactics he is hoping for.

Handle it internally = extra conditioning work for your player.

Your player becomes stronger and better and it doesn’t damage your team in the same way as giving your player a few days off.

Frankly, it’s none of our business how a coach disciplines his player.
