Get ’em while they’re hot.

Ah, America, land of opportunity.  And there’s nothing more opportunistic than separating rubes from their money.

Like this.

Anyone spending twenty bucks on that has a lot more money than sense.

I predict that within three months, someone will appear wearing this t-shirt in a mugshot.

My uncle used to refer to certain redneck trappings as “rebuttable presumptions of ignorance.” “Rebuttable,” because there’s always the poor sap who lost a bet.

But, in most cases, it’s akin to an Ed Hardy shirt — identifies a moron for you and thereby spares you the lengthier endeavor of arriving at that conclusion via actual engagement with the wearer.

If not sooner. What are the odds that a Charlie Sheen impersonator will be the guy wearing it on his next arrest?

What are the odds that this hoodie is officially licensed by the University of Tennessee?

100% as opposed to the 50% odds that the defense to this:

“The neighbors alleged that on several occasions, Wilkinson has carried the gun in his hand while making lewd gestures toward them. They also reported that he has patted the pistol in his waistband while looking in their direction.”

was that the Minister was not making a jerking motion, he was just trying to adjust the barrel to make sure he didn’t blow his balls off.

    Senator,
I had a few things on my mind recently and I wanted to share them with you and others.

    1. While I think you and I are both on the same page about playoffs for college football, playoff creep and March Madness, I did have a sudden realization. Yes, March Madness does devalue most of the regular season for college hoops. There are exceptions though, a few high profile games aside, it makes the regular season more interesting for bubble teams. Since UGA is kind of in that position, it has generated a lot more interest in each game. For the “locks” each game means a little less and for the horrible teams, like Auburn, the games mean next to nothing, but for UGA each game matters.

    2. I don’t know if you saw this recently, but some “experts” recently ranked all the top assistant coaches for each league. Apparently we traded down:

I especially like the part about technique and fundamentals. Also of note, Mark Bradley crush & Offensive Genius Paul Johnson did not make the cut for the ACC Offensive Coordinator slot. I don’t know if that is because head coaches aren’t eligible or because the Hokie offense is just so awesome (what?).

Apparently I shouldn’t try to use HTML. Here is the missing quote:

“Defensive backs: Willie Martinez, Oklahoma. He developed some good defenses as coordinator at Georgia before moving on and landing in Norman. Ten of his defensive backs at Georgia were selected in the NFL draft. Martinez, 48, who played defensive back at Miami in the mid-1980s, is a sharp secondary coach who understands technique and fundamentals. “

What you’re saying is that an extended playoff pushes the meaningful part of the regular season down from the best teams to the merely above-average to mediocre. I think that’s only part of it. The other part is that even for those teams, the regular season isn’t meaningful in and of itself. Its relevance is reduced to being a delivery system for the postseason.
