One less criminal mastermind to worry about

No doubt you’ll be relieved to hear that Mitch Mustain will avoid misdemeanor charges if he keeps his nose clean for the next year.

Sounds like a case of SKS (stupid kid syndrome). He probably doesn’t realize how lucky he was to be caught by the undercover cop. So he gets a second chance. I hope this lesson sticks and he learns something and gets his life on track. Selling drugs is dumb ….trying to sell counterfeit drugs to users is dangerous. If he tried doing that in Atlanta he might have found himself in the hospital. I received a phone call from one of our project managers concerning a worker that tried selling fake speed on one of our construction sites. They found him on the roof. Apparently the disgruntled buyer had gun nailed his (sellers) boots to the roof decking while he was still wearing them. I was glad they hadn’t elected to throw him off the roof.

Sad, Mustain is the poster boy of wasted potential. He is the Ryan Leaf of CFB.

Your right about Ryan Leaf of CFB, but big difference is Leaf was a failure after he made that big money. Mustain was no. 1 QB out of high school and it goes to show you sometimes talent just isn’t enough.

It really is an interesting story…He was one of 3 superstud QBs heading to the SEC that year. 2 of them have millions in the bank. He has a record of Arkansas > USC > Punter > Baseball >fake drug dealer. His parents must be so proud and I am sure his mom is very happy that she stuck her nose in the situation at Arkansas.

For some reason, I was unable to post to LA Times article, but lisdexamfetamine dimesylate is a controlled (CII) substance. It’s the generic name for the brand Vyvanse

Its a small man’s ADHD prescribed treatment. Kids? Not like Adderall. They can’t shoot it or snort it as there is no return on investment there……. and it has the opposite effect on ones libido compareed to Adderall. I imagine he has some soul searching and his Mom is probably sitting on the couch staring out the window wondering…. what could have been.

  10. You know what’s hilarious to consider in all of this? Mustain was such a stud in high school that Houston Nutt hired his HS coach as Arkansas’s offensive coordinator just to bring Mustain to Fayetteville. The only reason Nutt wanted Malzahn was because he could bring Mustain with him.

Five years later, Malzahn is all but assured of a multimillion-dollar head-coaching job in the very near future, while Mustain is trying to complete enough community service hours to stay out of jail (and hold on to his job as a backup). Life sure is funny sometimes.

The difference between school and life?
In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test.
In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.

That’s really interesting. The real jewel was Malzahn, and Nutt didn’t know what he had (nor did Arkansas).

That’s why his name is “Nutt.” Appropriate.

With Malzahn, it turned out that Houston was accidentally in the people-helping business even though neither Houston nor Malzahn had any idea that people-helping was happening when they were together.

You wonder if Mustain truly had talent, or was it Malzahn’s coaching abilities which elevated him to the top 3 QB’s coming out of HS. Makes me wonder if scam is the real deal or if he’ll implode in the nfl.
