If Jon Gruden says it, it must be true.
… Gruden said if the Florida players do a good job picking up new offensive and defensive systems this spring, watch out in the fall, this Gator team could be very, very good. He said the Muschamp-Weis coaching combination is the best in college football. [Emphasis added.]
I guess Charlie hired the wrong defensive coordinator in South Bend.
Hey, Gruden knows that Weis is right back where he had success, the AFC East… oh, wait…

Slightly related to the topic:
I was rereading an article from March 25th that mentioned Steve Addazio – so I jumped to his wikipedia and found this:
“Steve Addazio is widely regarded as the worst offensive mind in the history of college football. His complete mismanagement of personnel, lack of game planning skills, and refusal to acknowledge his shortcomings as an offensive coordinator have led some to believe (rightly so) that Addazio is mentally handicapped. His late 2010 diagnosis of an acute case of “head-up-the-ass disorder” is incurable and will undoubtedly lead to the demise of any and all football programs that he touches.”
Gotta love it.

Well now at least we don’t have to worry about the silly task of playing all those games. More time for NFL lockout talk. Has Gruden solved that yet?

I love Gruden’s energy, but he definitely heaps on the praise with little sense of reality. Par for the course.
They may be an awesome duo, but I’d like to see one or two games before I crown them THE BEST COACHING DUO EVAR!

Chuckie “said the Muschamp-Weis coaching combination is the best in college football.”
Based on recent history, there can be no doubt that Abbott and Costello are the best in the business. Go Gator!
“In a very short period of time, Charlie has clearly and impressively demonstrated the ability to take the Notre Dame program where we all want it to go,” Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White said…. “We’re confident that we’ve got the best coach in America ensconced at his alma mater for the remainder of his career.”

“Brown reiterated Monday that he is having a difficult time trusting his players and assistant coaches this season because he can’t depend on his team to play with passion every week. He said he told his assistants Sunday that his comments about a lack of trust should be taken seriously.
“If you’re coaching a position, and your position isn’t doing a good job every week, then I can’t trust you’re doing a good job coaching,” Brown said he told his coaches. “If one of your guys is playing bad, I can change him. If three of your guys are playing bad, I’ve gotta change you.”

Dog in Fla takes the handoff one yard deep in his own end zone, knocks the unblocked DT to the ground, sheds two linebackers who hit him from opposite directions, throws a massive stiff arm to the strong safety and outruns everyone 99 yards to the end zone. Glory, Glory to ol Georgia!

To be fair, Weis wasn’t saddled with that whole “top one percent” burden that they’ve got going on in Gainesville. He had to deal with “academic standards” and the need to go far and wide to find players at Notre Dame.
Honestly, you’re not crawling too far out on a limb to declare any coaching team will be successful at UF. Things are stacked pretty favorably there from the get-go.

Yeah. Pryor = genius.

The Gruden comment is outlandish. But Weis coached up a formerly embarrasingly poor KC Chiefs offense in the NFL last year and I was impressed. I don’t want him to be my head coach, but I would hire him coach my offense anyday. You think UF would trade us Weis for Bobo? Me either.

Charlie hired Mr. 51-7 to be his defensive coordinator in South Bend, if I recall.

Didn’t Chuckie say the same thing when Junior and Monte rolled into Rocky Top? And that Boom MFer guy, now he is a proven genius….right up there with Mr. Congeniality over on the Flats.

In fairness, Monte put together a very decent defense while he was at Tennessee.

I missed it then. They got rolled by any “non-pro style” offense they faced as I recall.
