A stopped clock

Geez, I must be getting old.  Michael Adams finally said something I can’t argue with.

“I get amused at this sometimes, frankly,” Adams said. “I actually have had suggestions from some of the same people over the last four months that, after the 0-2 start, were asking the AD and me to terminate him, who are now upset that we haven’t renewed the contract.

“So you don’t respond to these things emotionally through the season. You try and get a couple or three weeks away from a season. Give us a little time to review the whole process, but I would be surprised if Mark Richt weren’t the coach here next year. We’ll just wait and see what the AD decides to do.”

Of course, I have to admit this is a little rich coming from the guy who made an under-the-table side agreement with Jim Donnan to pay him an extra $250 thousand in 1998, only to can him a couple of years or so later.

Hey, we all get amused sometimes, eh?

How can a guy so successful with fundraising, the board etc. and personally so politically savvy be such an absolute embarrassment (to anyone who looks at his actions and words with impartial eyes) at the same time??

It’s 7:07 AM CST and Adams is still a douchebag.

I hear that, notice he does not say he was not one of those people. I think his failure to state unequivocally that if Coach Richt is not here next year it is Coach Richt’s choice is pretty evident. I can’t stand that smuck.

Adams’ remarkable patience and insight brought this turnaround about. It’s true. Just ask him.

Dr. Adams can be thankful that Greg McGarity is wise enough not to sign anyone to an eight-year contract extension.

Well, I understand not rushing into a contract extension…but I don’t want them to drag it out so that it places any doubt into the minds of potential recruits either…
We all feel that the job is still CMR’s but the way the powers-to-be talk, it sounds as thought they’re not completely sure…’three weeks away from the season’…’review the whole process’…’surprised if CMR is not the coach’…
I would think the recruits on the bubble need to hear a little more certainty.

Well, he didn’t express fear that Richt would have HIM fired, so he’s actually managed to look more presidential than the president of THE Ohio State University… so there’s that…

  8. Are rumors around have some legs then????????? We will know in a few weeks, I guess. Or are these rumors true, but WERE his personal backup plans in case the 2011 season went nowhere???? GO DAWGS.

This morning on 960 The Ref they played a clip from PMA saying something like, “Well, if he wins this weekend we’ll keep him, and if he loses we’ll fire him. Haw, haw, haw.” I couldn’t help but think that he would have answered the same way if firing CMR was the more likely option.

    He’s a dick.

Hey Coach…I know you’re all involved in a big timey game and all….lots of stress, distractions, etc. But I’m bored, so I’m going to go pop-off to the media and bring-up a very sensitive and touchy subject to everybody around the program. Gee, hope you don’t mind….

Not the hearty endorsement the alums expected to see. Now we have insight why Tommy Lawhorne’s remarks were permitted to hit the public eye; Adams has been involved in the horse manure going around.

How about a little “Occupy the Admin Bldg” Movement for Adams to cease speaking from both of his mouths, including the one with the forked tongue. He should be held accountable for his backroom lukewarm statements when recruiting signup occurrs, not so the football staff. In addition to the “recruited by” column, we need an “unrecruited by” column to keep the record straight.

…”wait and see what the AD DECIDES to do”? What decision does he have to make? How much of a raise? That’s it, dump it on McGarity. His coattails aren’t on fire at the moment. Speaking of “fire”, how about we put Adams and McGarity on the “hot seat” for their tenures on a day-to-day basis. Adams starts from behind the 8-ball due to past behavior with athletic choices of action and character(Harrison, Dooley) while McGarity gets a “wait and see” hot seat for how ringing and the alacrity of his Richt/staff endorsement.

Adams is a disgrace to the previously sullied office he holds.
