Wilco, Nick Lowe and Mavis Staples covering The Band… how bad could it be?
Pretty damned good, actually.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
You can stream the actual performance instead of the rehearsal (and the whole Wilco show) by going to the Wilco Roadcase.

Wilco is obviously known as a Chicago band..but lots of SEC flavor in the membership. The bass player went to Ole Missand the drummer is a UK grad. Multi-Instrumentalist Pat Sansone is a So. Miss grad. TMI

Nels Cline was influenced at an early age by Duane Allman. They pulled Duane’s ’57 Les Paul out of storage at the GA Music HOF for Nels to play at the Atlanta show this fall.

Hot damn, that was great. Man I love Wilco. Anyone with last name Staples that sings soul is going to be a slam dunk, too.

If you’ve never heard Mavis Staples’ album “You Are Not Alone,” you really should. Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) produced it and provided the guitar work all through the album. Fantastic work.
