If you can’t join ’em, beat ’em.

Virginia Tech’s athletic director proposes an ACC-SEC football scheduling partnership.  Given that three members of each conference already face off against each other annually (they’d stay locked and everyone else would rotate matchups), it’s not a bad idea.

Although I wonder if Les Miles will be able to sleep at night in those years when LSU plays Duke.

Meh…does not excite me in the least.

I don’t see where this is a positive for the SEC. Win the match ups and you were supposed to do so. Lose the match ups and you are getting beat by an inferior football conference. In addition the only semi-interesting teams not already spoken for are VT and Miami. Who cares about match ups with UNC, UVA, Maryland, Duke, NC St., etc? I don’t see those generating much value for TV contracts.

I will say that I think this should be implemented and we can even pick up another one of their other teams if possible. Playing UVA, NCSt., UNC, even Duke > Buffalo, Fla Atl. and Ga. Southern.

Why not rotate the ACC schools? This is great for the schools (both conferences can point to another D-1 game on the schedule) and the fans (we get to travel to new schools/stadiums/cities).

I like it. It would level the playing field as far as scheduling. Vandy is already playing Wake, too, so 4 of 14 are already set. It could be fun with some almost natural rivalries.

Spurrier loves this…when he can’t win the SEC East, he’ll claim an ACC championship, rings and all.

Here’s an idea: Rather than adding an ACC conference game, why don’t they add another SEC game to the schedule? Wouldn’t THAT be cool?

I would love AU to get GT back on the schedule. And give us VT, too. A consistently overrated VT is always better than Southwest Eastern North Dakota Sate.

“If you can’t join ’em, lose to ’em” is more like it.
