Former AU HC Pat Dye on UGA/ Mizzou game,'I think there's a good chance Georgia gets beat Saturday.'

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Ever since he didn’t get the UGA job when CMR did Pat Dye has been so bitter that he absolutely cannot stand it. Pat, you’re a UGA alum for cryin’ out loud. Quit whining. Be a man. Get over it.

Wow! I never realized he was even interested in the UGA job. At least with Richt we never have to worry about major sanctions. Can you imagine what kind of NCAA hell we could be in had Dye take over the program? #shuddertothink

Guys….I gotta say, the only conversation about Pet coming back to Athens was in the media…there was some conversation about Pet being some sort of consultant…but really he was never a candidate. Dooley hiring Pet, come on, Mayor.

Dog in Florida, post that article from the Savannah paper you have linked and enlighten our friend Scorpio who seems to believe that if he didn’t see it himself it must have never actually happened.

P.S. That’s what pissed Ol’ Pat off Ccorpio–the fact that Dooley WOULDN’T hire him.

It is a 3.5-point spread. Doesn’t that imply that there are a lot of people who think there is a good chance Missouri beats Georgia? Otherwise I’d imagine we’d be something more like -17 on Saturday.

Exactly, this spread indicates a pretty good sized goup of fans think this is a one play game, virtually a toss-up. Hardly a major call by the old drunk.
I will say though, that line looks very attractive to me. I felt UGA would be favored by more than a TD so it looks like a bargain to me. Definitely unserstand anything can happen but that Bulletin Board action coming out of Columbia makes me think our boys might play like their hair is on fire too!

A couple things on that spread. First, it hasn’t moved since it opened there this summer, which means (to your point) the money is coming in pretty even. Second, home field is normally good for about 3 points. So Vegas thinks UGA is about 6-7 points better on a neutral field. If this game was in Athens, it would be a 9.5-10.5 pt spread.

That sounds about right. I actually think they get a little bigger edge for home field this week given the unusual attention paid to this being their SEC “coming out” party.

PAWWWWWLLL he is just tryin’ to get them dawgs fired up since he is an alum.

Hear! Hear! this in conjunction with the DT from Mizzou means the dawgs have officially been called out. Open a can of whoop ass on the Tigers in Columbia boys.

Sounds to me like a man whose team got its dick knocked in the dirt last time out against the Dawgs.
Hey Pat, go F@#k yourself.

Sadly, this isn’t what Pat thinks will happen….it’s what he hopes will happen.
He’s as dead to me as Muschamp.

Obviously I want to win next weekend but I honestly want to win more because I won’t be able to stand the turmoil the fan base will be thrown into if we lose. Battle lines will be drawn for/against Richt, arguments of “suspend or not suspend” philosophy, more “is Richt too good a man to be Champion”, blah blah blah. It’ll be awful.

It will always be awful until we get a Saban/Kiffen type guy. We have enough “new culture” folks that do not care how we win any longer and will always have things stirred up. If we win by a blowout on Saturday it will only stave them off for a few days until the find another angle to attack from.

Nothing to do with this thread…just watching the GT/VT OT…I didn’t know Reggie Ball had eligibility left.

You got that right. Absolutely Ball-esque decision by Washington to lose that game. Ol’ Fish Fry shouldn’t ride him too hard though; there’s plenty of blame to go around after the defense let VT march down the field in 44 seconds to take it to OT.

Now they are trying to figure out why “Reggie Ball” is trending on twitter…

Hopefully it will go as the last time PD called us out. I have absolutely no feel for how this game will go. I could see a close ballgame, a blow out either way….who knows. Week #1 didn’t show us much on either side.

Anyone who made the trip to Stillwater and Boulder can tell you that road trips west to play OOC foes can be trouble. … What? They’re not OOC? … oh, we’re good to go then. GATA,

Heard the show because I was on the road and couldn’t get the ATL stations clearly. I hate being forced to listen to Finebaum and usually avoid him the way I do the AJC. He egged Dye into saying it. PAWWL was being his usual Jerry Springer-like self and trying to get UGA people to call. I don’t listen much but as far as I can tell very few UGA fans call him. Appreciate the bulletin board material though.
