Are you worried about the defense’s less than stellar showing against Buffalo in the first half last week? Don’t be. Todd Grantham wants you to chill. He’s on the mother.
“Any time you have split-safety coverage and you’re rushing four guys, there are six gaps for four guys, so it’s critical that you collapse those pockets,” defensive coordinator Todd Grantham said. “When you collapse the pocket outside in, you constrict that area. But if you create a seam in there, a guy can get out and make some yards, because you’ve got vertical separation between the rush going one way and the receivers moving down the field.
“We’ve addressed it with the players as far as what they need to do, and we will continue to work to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Gratuitous yet at the same time necessary Samuel Jackson response follows:
So now we wait for CTG to call for the hard, pipe-hitting (guys) with pliers and a blow torch. Maybe he should wait for Sakerlina week for that.

I’d be okay with the Grantham going medieval on their ass (both Columbias).

I know our D just needs to play better anyway, but given what our fan base usually complains about, I’m shocked more hasn’t been made of the horrible, horrible job of officiating that allowed a lot of the Buffalo yardage to be had. We actually had players in position to stop a lot of those runs/scrambles and were held like a mofo and that’s what allowed the runs to get extra yardage. I’m not even being a homer…it’s was downright blatant on several occasions. But yeah, no one wants the game to be left in the officials hands. We just need to handle our biz.

It was a Penn Wagers crew. We may as well complain about the sun rising in the east.

With a national audience, the officials will call it loose, but fair. Then we will see if the results change or not.

THIS is where the CTG>Bobo meme comes from. CTG takes everyone to school talking gaps, splits, angles, etc. to explain sub-optimal performance. Bobo just goes back to the “we just need to execute better” thing. They only time we got close to hearing about Offensive x’s and o’s was after the UT game where it was our PLAYERS who were noting that UT was susceptible to the outside shoulder throws (at least, I think it was UT).

Bobo uses less word. Got a problem with that?

Now Dooley likes back shoulder passes…hard to defend, especially inside the 30’s. Murray, yeah, he needs to execute…can not have overtrows and wasted downs against Missouri.
Concerned about play of corners and safities against the Tigers and the O line. Need to be solid and not give up an easy play due to focus.

Sensimillia? Getting the seedless stuff at this time of year? Thought the drought hurt production this year. I hope the locals don’t copy the Mounties when Dudley and crew placed a big banner up proclaiming “Its going to be a dry year, boys.”, taunting the smokers in Alberta.
