“They should be a desperate team.”

Chris Gragg believes.

“We still feel like we’re a top 10 team,” Gragg said. “We have one blemish on our record, but we’re 0-0 in the SEC and we know that this is a big game. Like it always is every year I’ve been here, it has a lot of implications on what happens in the SEC.”

If the Hogs are still a top-10 team, what does that make UL-M?  According to Barnhart, richer:

Last week was a good one for Louisiana-Monroe (the alma mater of Timmy Brando) of the Sun Belt Conference. The Warhawks picked up a cool $950,000 to play Arkansas in War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. But under the unique terms of the agreement ULM got to count it as a home game, boosting its overall attendance and thus helping the school maintain its requirements to remain the Football Bowl Subdivision. Then ULM had the temerity to beat No. 10 Arkansas in overtime, the biggest upset of this young season. It was the first win ever by the Sun Belt Conference over a top-10 team. They’ve even got the T-shirts: “The Shock in Little Rock.”

Well, if you think last week was good, what if ULM goes to Auburn on Saturday and wins? With QB Kolton Browning (42 of 67, 412 yards vs. Arkansas) the Warhawks certainly have a shot against Auburn (0-2), which is last in total defense in the SEC. And for those of you keeping score at home, ULM will be paid $1,050,000 for the visit to Jordan-Hare Stadium.

If UL-M wins this week, I may add the Warhawks to my SEC Power Poll ballot.

BVG will bring the pressure this week. Be hard for the QB to last the game imo. Need to roll him out and lots of 3 step drops.

The War Hawks vs the War Eagles…

Ahh…now we know the problem at Aubarn. They spent the extra $100k on UL-M instead of their QB.

If UL-M wins, Spurrier will be utterly confused about SOS and I’d put them just behind Mizzou and aTm in the conference.

Might see the Warhawks in Atlanta if they go unbeaten through the weak Westrn Division. Glad we dodged them. The aU better win this one, I don’t see much conference success for them with that offense/defense.

ULM has Baylor next week sans RG,III and Tulane the week after. Then a Sunbelt schedule. 9 or 10 wins IMHO, even if they lose to Auburn.

Senator, I didn’t see this post until 1:30, and I swear I was thinking that you might add ULM to the power poll as they went up on the Barners 14-7.

Auburn is staring hard at an 0-4 start to the season. They will be hard pressed to win this game, trick plays and miracle plays notwithstanding, and LSU is going to own that ass next week.

I almost felt bad for the wartigerplainsmen getting 3rd-and-Wilie’d a couple of times. I’m glad we don’t have BVG.

Retweet: FWIW….Monroe is a very good football team, and a real testament to the recruiting experts….could very easily have beaten Awbun, some might say should have beaten them. It is interesting none of the Texas schools saw anything in the quarterback that was worth a scholarship.

Arkansas, on the other hand, is not as good as Bama, but after watching Monroe and Awbun, Arkansas is better than it would have seemed after last week.

Bama really is pretty good. And extremely well coached….every little detail is handled….good players, good coaching….very difficult to beat, and the chances of them beating themselves is are very, very slim. They sho do feast on the fuckups.

It will be interesting to see how much latitude the process allows when it is time to remove foot from gas peddle.

Incidentally, it was a totally bogus “cheap-shot” dangerous hit-to-the-head penalty there in the 1st half, jus before the Hail Mary TD bomb. This wussified directive agsinst good clean defense must stop. The aggression MUST be allowed to stand!!! The state of things vis-a-vis concussion-fatigue is becoming tedious. Lord, I hope it doesn’t screw the Dawgs somewhere down the line.

See….I proly have on the wrong hat…with Bama that little tiny mistake might be good for three touchdowns. I hope that’s not a portent.

I am about to descend to the worry room.

Arkansas is just terrible. I don’t care if Tyler Wilson is the love child of Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas, if he played the score would still be 45-14.

Oh and the Meteor Game is living up to my expectations. I find myself pulling against each of them.
