It’s not over until the fat quarterback squeals.

Man, this must be the Week of Taking It Personally in the SEC East.  Florida’s offensive coordinator’s got a major chip on his shoulder… about Kentucky.  If that’s not weird enough for you, evidently it’s because Jared Lorenzen once tweeted mean things.

“I coached Jared,” Pease said in Ocala. “Jared is one of those guys that was talking trash when I took this job. So that’s good for about two extra launch plays, trying to get to 50 points on those guys when they come to campus.”

I hope he’s as gratified if a key player gets hurt on one of those extra launch plays.

+1. It’s one thing for a fat-boy failed ex-QB to talk smack. It’s quite another thing for the OC of a supposedly highly ranked team to do that. Who’s the real moron here?

I hope he never tells a player he is going to “fucking choke.”

I thought he had just placed his hand to his throat. I didn’t know that he was quoted with those words. Was this a visual thing that could have been misread, like he may have said “Your team play would gag a maggot” or “You suck like a Champion” or “Lizard words fail me” or “Brace your neck; here it comes” or any other quotes not using the F-bomb? This was a heard and reported quote, right?

Fits right in down in the swamp. Hang half a hunnerd on ’em Coach. It’s Kentucky, dude. If you have to “launch” at the end to reach 50… Ole J Load may be right about you.

And by Kentucky… I mean a Kentucky team not coached by Rich Brooks, who had the Cats playing well. It appears the old Kentucky is back so scoring 50+ is not a huge stretch for a good offense. We shall soon see.

  5. What great memories I have of Munson’s calls against “That huge giant that just stands back there and we can’t knock him down” . Always the master of hyperbole, his descriptions and calls on Lorenzen are some of the best. I remember the time he threw the ball backwards for a completion as he was being sacked. Larry would have given Jared the Heisman right then and there if he could have.
I’m going to pray that the Joker finds a way to at least scare FL or keep it close. Things happen.

But the history says UK has “kept it close” 5 times in the past 25 years, and has not won since ’86. And: Hilltoppers. This ain’t the Cats squad to frighten UF.

A petty, childish coach at UF? Perfect fit.

Pease sure fits in down in FL. He has to use tweets by a player he coached who is no longer playing to motivate his team. I hope this motivated KY to turn up and play hard. There must be some really bad blood between Coach and Lorenzen.

Jared Lorenzen….good God….the round mound of touchdown. I did not worry about him then, can’t imagine why Pease worries about him now…maybe Pease thought he was a great QB or something, which doth beg the question.

Jared Lorenzen the round mound of touchdown, the Pillsbury throw boy, who knew he could evoke such ire.

Were Jared playing today, I would nominate him for a Cojones Award. He had balls as big as he was. I remember three Dawgs wrapped around him trying to get him to the ground, which wasn’t often. He was refreshingly different for a college QB and I thought it was great. Being an ahole only helps his iconoclastic image. Certainly liked him more than Bakelet( 🙂 ) at USC.

It does produce the dislike of the gators that I cherish–wanting to hang 50 on a hurting team because of something an ex-Qb said–we must be patient we will get our shot. They are so easy to really dislike !

    The good Senator writes;

“I hope he’s as gratified if a key player gets hurt on one of those extra launch plays.”

I think it is about as likely a player will get hurt on a streak play as it is a player will get hurt on a fullback dive.

And as far as Pease being a little miffed at a former UK player, it’s not like he told him he was going to “fucking choke” or got into a shouting match with the head coach of an opposing team.

I mean, I am just saying.

    • Yeah, I can see how heat of the moment silliness is much, much stupider than holding a pointless grudge for a year.

Of course, yours is the school who employed Corch Never Forget.

Corch most certainly did not forget. As the time outs the next year demonstrated. And Gator fans everywhere are grateful that he did not forget.

And finally, bad behavior is bad behavior. Excusing spontaneous bad behavior while castigating a person holding a grudge is the moral equivalent of debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

I’m sorry…is this where I should post the eye-gouging incident with Knowshon?

Mike, if you want to get into a pissing contest of which team exhibits the worst on-field behavior, forget it. You guys win by a mile. But at least the guy on your sideline now sure knows how to be classy.

      BOOM!

By all means bring it up. But then we are jumping from the behavior of a coach to the behavior of a player. And I will challenge that “on field behavior” claim.
