Methinks this isn’t going to help the NCAA’s side of the O’Bannon case.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Saw that article on the twitter and thought the same thing.
I really can no longer see a way out for the NCAA..

perhaps they might argue that tebow is a concept, belief, or way of life and not an actual QB 😉

This literally made me laugh out loud. Well played sir.
This whole situation just keeps getting more and more interesting though. I’m with the Phan, how could the NCAA possibly continue to keep their position whilst maintaining a straight face?

Clearly Tim Tebow is guilty of copyright infringement as he is using as his name a character that EA Sports and the NCAA invented to play the QB position in one of their computerized football games.

Wait until Chuck Norris hears about the totally inappropriate, lewd, lascivious, salacious, and outrageous misappropriation of Timmy’s surname by EA. Losing to O’Bannon will be gold for them compared to what Chuck is going to do to them

Emmert’s upcoming response:
To the fans and everybody in College Football Nation, We’re sorry. We’re extremely sorry. We were hoping for an undefeated lawsuit. That was our goal, something the NCAA has never done here. We promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this. You will never see any player in the entire country compensated as little as we will compensate the defendants the rest of the season. You will never see someone compensate the rest of the players as little as we will push to deny compensation rights to everybody the rest of the season. You will never see a legal team obfuscate the facts harder than we will the rest of the season. God Bless.

Donny Remy approves this Pledge. So does “Monsieur” Calvin J. Candie. Donny says remember, “The fact remains — the NCAA is not exploiting current or former student-athletes but instead provides enormous benefit to them and the public.”

Did you ever see the 08 or 09 versions of the game? You’d have to be Helen Keller not to know it was Tebow on the box cover.

O’Bannon will eventually be one of those case studies in law school entitled “What Not To Do.” The NCAA has pretty much screwed itself at every single opportunity.

Senator, does that mean we can vacate the Fake Juice Uniforms from the ’09 game?

I thought Tebow was the baby Jesus. Did he play football too?

Yes. He used to, anyway.

Whoa…..Babies do not play football! When Jesus was studying at the Synagog, it was like being at Harvard Divinity School. No time for sports. He had more important things to do…you know?
