Even sadder is what passes for a rebuttal:
There is no evidence that there have been any KKK rallies on the school’s campus this year, let alone monthly.
The last known KKK rally at Ole Miss was in 2009 when KKK members protested the school’s removal of the song “From Dixie with Love” from the song list. At the time the Associated Press noted about 12 KKK members protested, while as many as 250 people protested the KKK’s presence.
Correction duly noted.

Let’s cut the Ole Miss people some slack. A lousy dozen racists. 250 protesters AGAINST them. You don’t think there are 12 racists in Athens, Columbia, Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Fayetteville or (gasp!) Auburn? And the kid’s name should be Pussy, in my book.

Are Ole Miss fans, as a group, are racists? Of course not. That is absurd. On the other hand, racial tension and ole miss will always exist below the surface.

This is Pome ‘d Rue. The next thing you know someone will confess to having used the “N” word in the past and people will try to punish them….oh…..they have? Not Paula! – she’s from home. Everyone is guilty back there and then. Do I have to redact my impending book? Crap, there goes all the local dialogue.
And all my UGA friends from the sixties can’t say they used the word? Crap again. Several of them are famous and have fought for black rights. And Smithfield says that doesn’t matter? Hope Tygua isn’t on our recruiting list.

I can completely understand how a black player wouldn’t feel comfortable going to Ole Miss. Even if you disregard the Klan rallies and the school’s poor record during the Civil Rights movement (and other anti-Reconstruction forms of protest and violence), the school’s tradition is still steeped in Antebellum South nostalgia.
Honestly, can none of you see how that mindset, history, and tradition would make a young black youth feel alienated?

I said something nice about Ole Piss above but now I’ll make up for it….You do understand that the University of Mississippi fired the Kinard brothers (one was the AD and the other the HC) because they wanted to recruit black players. In the mid-70s. When every other team in the SEC was already signing and playing black players.

Also, there’s no chance that Humphrey might have less-than-sincere reasons for putting some stink on Ole Miss recruiting. It’s not like the SEC is cutthroat or anything. But by all means, don’t let me interrupt the outrageously outrageous self-righteous outrage.
